C H A P T E R: 1

Jisoo's pov:

"Ah! The food is so delicious!!" I say tasting the mouthwatering culinary that was neatly plated in front of me.

Mrs jeon smiles and laughs it off, "aah now y/n will be competing with me" she pouts looking at jungkook-ssi who was clearly blushing

"Y/n or me? Hmm, jungkook-ah" Mrs jeon says looking at her son as she places her fork and knife tidely after finishing off her meal

Jungkook looks at Mrs jeon and whines, "Eomma! Why'd you make me choose when you know the answer already...."

We all laugh out loud
"Hmm.... I'll be having a tough competition to win back my son then" she jokes making us all laugh again

"Surely eomonim" I say while chuckling

Mrs Jeon, who was seated right beside me leans in closer to my ear and whispers, "I need to talk to you about something important...." and then she gestures at a room situated at the end of the living room.

I obediently nod and follow her lead after finishing off the meal.

She closes the door shut and turns around to face me, "oh jisoo-ssi, please suit yourself....." She gestures me to sit on the couch

We both settle ourselves....
My heart was pounding heavily against my chest as I get agitated by every passing second.... Why would she call me? What is it that she wants to talk to me in private? Does she want to cancel this marriage??

I clear my throat and decide to ask her, "Eomonim.... Is something wrong?"

She places her hands atop mine, caringly, "aniyeo...." She exaggerates, "it's just that.... you know how y/n just got promoted to work in the Kim corporates?"

"Ye..."

"I don't know but we can't allow our daughter in law to work in a rival's company...." She says, trying her very best to keep that fake smile over her face.

I get confused for a minute but then realization strikes me and I realize that she wants my sister to quit the golden opportunity! How mean!

"Eomonim...."

"Look jisoo-ssi.... I know I might be sounding terrible at the moment but just see things through my perspective.... Had you been in my place what would you have done huh? Would you have allowed y/n to go to a place that tried to belittle your family and have had grudges since a long long time?" She asks

I am unable to answer her at all.... The Jeon's and Kim's are rivals?

"I figure that your silence agrees to my decision jisoo-ssi" she smiles

NO! I can't let my sister sit home and miss out this opportunity!

"Eomonim.... I respect what you're saying but.... It's her chance and and this is what she's dreamt of since long... She won't accept rejecting this offer" I say with as much fakeness in the tone of my voice as I could muster

Her facial expressions suddenly change to being frustrated and her hands slowly withdraw from mine, "if she can't live by how we expect her to now then how will she cope up later once she's married?"

"Eomonim I'm not trying to offend you at all.... Please try to understand" I plead. As much as I was hating to carry on this conversation but somehow I had to make her get convinced

"That's what we expect from her and if she can't accept it then ..." She smiles and without having to explain any further she gets up

I get up too, what's wrong with this woman?? She is going nuts!
Y/n is such a hard working girl who's given her all to get her dream accomplished.... How can she shatter her dreams like that? and does jungkook-ssi even know about this? Has he complied to these vicious pleas of his mother??
