"Hey, are you okay?" Marley asks.

"I think I'm going to be sick," I said and I hold my mouth with my hand. I then run out of the cafeteria and into the girls bathroom. I run over to a toilet and I vomit in it. I take deep breaths. The sickness feeling comes back and I vomit again.

Vomit again. It will make you feel good.

No, it won't.

I then vomit one last time. The sickness feeling is now gone.

I told you it would make you feel better.

I hear the door open.

"Em? Are you in here?" I flush the toilet and I walk over to the sink. I look over at the door and I see Ryder. "Em."

"I'm fine. I just can't fall in love again," I said and I look at myself in the mirror. I look horrible.

I have dark bags under my eyes, my whole face is red, my eyes are bloodshot, my lips are dry. I look like a mess.

Ryder passes me my bag. I open it and I grab my makeup out.

"Do you want me to stay?" He asks. I let out a sigh and I nod. I apply foundation to my face which covers my red skin and the dark bags under my eyes. I then apply some lipgloss on my lips. I turn and I face Ryder. "Why were you throwing up?"

"I wasn't putting my fingers down my throat like Marley did," I said. I then put my makeup back in my bag and I put the bag on my back. "I think I'm a bit nervous about Sectionals and from seeing Lucas hanging out with that stupid idiot at that popular kids table."

"Oh yeah. I saw him sitting with Justin," he said and I smile.

"Yeah...but I'll be alright. I mean, I've always been alright," I said and I leave the bathroom. Ryder follows me.

"Do you need company?" He asks. I shake my head.

"No. I'll be alright. I have to stop somewhere anyway," I said and I walk off, leaving Ryder standing outside the girls bathroom.

I walk into the Auditorium and I walk onto stage. I sit down and I look over at the band. They start to play. I smile at them. I sway back and forth with the music.

Emily-Grace:

Hurry up and wait so close but so far away

Everything that you've always dreamed of

Close enough for you to taste but you just can't touch

You wanna show the world but no one knows your name yet

Wonder when and where and how you're gonna make it

You know you can if you get the chance

In your face and the door keeps slamming

Now you're feeling more and more frustrated

And you're getting all kind of impatient, waiting

We live and we learn to take

One step at a time there's no need to rush

It's like learning to fly or falling in love

It's gonna happen when it's supposed to happen

That we find the reasons why, one step at a time

You believe and you doubt

You're confused and got it all figured out

Everything that you always wished for

Could be yours, should be yours, would be yours if they only knew

You wanna show the world but no one knows your name yet

Wonder when and where and how you're gonna make it

You know you can if you get the chance

In your face and the door keeps slamming

Now you're feeling more and more frustrated

And you're getting all kind of impatient, waiting

We live and we learn to take

One step at a time there's no need to rush

It's like learning to fly or falling in love

It's gonna happen and it's supposed to happen

That we find the reasons why, one step at a time

When you can't wait any longer

But there's no end in sight

It's the faith that makes you stronger

The only way we get there is one step at a time

Take one step at a time there's no need to rush

It's like learning to fly or falling in love

It's gonna happen and it's supposed to happen

That we find the reasons why, one step at a time

One step at a time there's no need to rush

It's like learning to fly or falling in love

It's gonna happen and it's supposed to happen

That we find the reasons why, one step at a time

I stand up and I walk over to the piano. I sit there and I play some keys. I then hear footsteps. I turn around and I see Lucas.

"Wh-What are you doing here?" I ask.

"I came here to talk," he said.

"I don't feel like talking," I said and I grab my bag.

"Wait, Emily," he said.

"I've got somewhere to be," I lied and I walk out of the Auditorium. I take a deep breath.

How am I going to concentrate on Sectionals if I have him there?
