We wait in the green room. Apparently, Mr Shue has something important to say. He walks in with Quinn. We form a circle.
"Okay, the good news is that we are performing last," Mr Shue said and we all cheer. "Now, on three: Amazing. 1, 2, 3..."
"AAMMAAAZZIINNGG!" Everyone walks into the Auditorium except for me. I sit in a chair and I stare at my dress.
It is a short, black dress with a white red ribbon around my waist. I'm also wearing black heels, a few bracelets on my wrist, and black nail polish on my nails.
"Are you okay?" I look up and I see Ryder. I smile a little and I nod.
"Yeah. I was just getting some air," I said while I stare at his costume.
He is wearing a white shirt with a red tie, black pants, and black shoes.
He takes a seat next to me.
"You're not okay Em. I know you. You can't lie to me," he said. I shrug my shoulders.
"I'm not lying," I said, not making eye contact with him. He smiles.
"Em..." I look up at him and into his caramel eyes.
"I don't know if I can do this."
"What do you mean? You can do this." I look at the ground. He grabs my hand and he touches my cheek. "Hey, you are going to do great out there. Forget about what has happened over the past few weeks. Just think about this performance and how we are going to win."
I take a deep breath and I nod. He then kisses me. I put my hand on his cheek.
To tell you the truth, I miss Ryder. I miss hanging out with him and...kissing him.
We part. I look back at the ground.
"We should go," I said and he agrees. We then walk into the Auditorium. We take a seat next to Jake.
"You okay?" He asks. I nod and I put my head on his shoulder.
"Ladies and gentleman. I welcome you to Regionals 2014. First, give a warm welcome to Harmony!"
The crowd cheers as the curtain rises. There is a group of boys and girls.
The girls are wearing white dresses and the boys are wearing a white suit.
They start to sing. They are pretty good. I just hope that the judges will like our performance. Harmony finish and the crowd cheers. They then walk offstage.
"Thank you Harmony. Now, our next group is The Warblers!" People cheer.
The curtain rises and I see a group of boys in blazers. They start to sing.
Oh my gosh, they are good. Not just good good, but like really good. Actually, great.
Ryder grabs my hand.
"Don't worry. We are going to be great. No wait, we are going to be amazing. Just, don't worry," he said. I smile and I continue to watch The Warblers.
Great, how are we gonna beat them?
They finish and the audience cheers.
We are screwed.
We all stand up and we walk to the green room to get ready. Kitty and I do stretches since we have to dance with Ryder and Jake.
"So, do you like Ryder?" Kitty asks.
"What?" I said.
"Come on, you can trust me," she said.
"I don't want to talk about this...especially with you," I said and I move away from her. I continue to do my stretches.
