"I got the call this morning, no need to stress though you'll do fine" she said waiving me off walking back to her room.

"Oh my lord what am I going to wear? What do they want me to bring?! What do I say?!" Celine obviously thought my sheer panic was funny as I could hear her laugh from her room.

I finish brushing my teeth and head over to my room to check my phone. The time on the screen displayed: 9:50am, Okay I have time.

Although, I have to take into account of time my shower routine takes, plus the makeup, the outfit choosing, and the fact that New York traffic is a bitch. Do I even have enough time at all!

I try to go as fast as possible, my makeup taking me an hour to do. Why did I spend so much time on my brows?!

When I was done I looked in the full length mirror in the hallway to examine my outfit which consisted of a basic white blouse, pencil skirt and blazer combo. To top it off I decide to be bold with four inch black pumps. I'll be regretting this later but damn they make my legs look good.

I left my hair sleek and straight as usual. I finished looking myself over and turn around to head back to my room. At that same moment Celine came out of hers.

"All set?"

"Yeah" I went into my room spray perfume and to grab my bag and she walked in also

"I texted you the address and here's fifty dollars that should cover cab fairs to and from"

I grabbed the money from her hand and turn around towards my bed to pick up my phone.

"Well I better get going" I say walking out of my room. I stopped and turned around

"Thanks Celine for doing this for me" I say genuinely

"When you said you would move out here I made a promise to myself....to protect you and help you when you needed it"

She continued "while you're here it's my job to make sure you succeed and to take you out of this bubble Ma and Dad put you in"

"Thanks Cece" I said hugging her. After I pulled away, I checked the time "oh snap I gotta go I'll see you when I get back to tell you how it went!" I say racing out the door as fast as these four inch heels would allow.

When I stepped outside a rush of anxiety hit me I've never been out in the streets of New York alone before. For the first time I felt independent, it was a scary feeling at first but it soon was replaced with a feeling of freedom. I could go anywhere —see anyone, and not answer to anyone. I smiled at the thought of it all.

I walk down the street and crossed a couple times to get to the main street. I see a couple cabs driving down

Okay this is my moment, it can't be that hard

I start waving my hands like a crazy person and scream "TAXI!"
Well that worked. You go Nadia! You hailed your first cab!

The cab slows to a stop in front of me and I hop in.

"147 Columbus Avenue please"

"Alright " the driver replies

The cab drive was fairly long because of the traffic, but it gave me enough time to obsess over what I would say at the interview. This would be my real job where my degree can be of use.

The cab finally stopped "We are here" the driver speaks out. I hand him a fifteen dollars "Thank you Sir" I say as I open the door to step out. Once I do, I straighten my skirt out and peer up at the building.
