"Touring isn't as fun as it sounds," Draco says to the boys as they load onto the tour bus. "It gets loud and annoying and some fans don't know the meaning of personal space. You'll both have a security detail, but if you ever feel uncomfortable, just let me know. Alright. Is everyone ready to go?"

Harry raises his hand and Draco rolls his eyes, but calls on him anyway.

"Yes, Harry?"

"What if I'm uncomfortable with you being gone early for rehearsals?"

"Then just come to wherever I'm rehearsing. My crew knows you lot now, so they'll let you in wherever I'm allowed. And as long as you have your passes anyone not on the crew'll know that you're allowed backstage or in private areas."

He shows them around the tour bus happily and the boys nudge each other excitedly when they see the bunk beds where they were going to be sleeping for the duration of this leg of the tour.

"Now, we all have a meeting with my manager in about 20 minutes ago we should probably start heading over to her office before it's time to take off and launch the tour."

"And you always do this before a tour?" James asks.

"Yes."

"Were you scared the first time? Being in the bus alone trying to figure it all out?"

Draco thinks before he speaks. Decides that it would be best for him not to mention he was terrified. Scared for his life because he was a pureblood wizard, born and raised, surrounded by muggles and alone. But then he's looking at his son, excited but scared out of his bloody mind all the same, and he tells the truth.

"Of course I was. I'd barely been in muggle London long before I was shipped off to no-maj America. I didn't know anyone. I didn't even know what I was doing, but I knew that I really wanted to. That I had to at least try." He shakes the memories out of his head. "I'm going to tell you a little secret." He motions for Teddy and James to come closer. "Doing things for the first time is always going to be kind of scary, but it gets better. You just have to try. And this tour s'going to be easy, especially for you lot, because I'll be here to walk you through it, yeah?"

James looks up at him with a smile and nods. Harry thinks it's the first time he's really smiled in years. It takes up half his face and it's blinding. Draco looks like he wants to cry like he's never been happier.

The rest of week one preparations are a blur.

There's a lot of running and yelling and dancing and singing and practices and by the end of it, Draco looks like he is going to collapse but he still walks around to every member of the band and crew to give them compliments or things to improve on or even just ask them how they're feeling. Harry can see more than one of them swoon. He can admit to himself that he's swooning. Especially when Draco walks over to him, his hair pushed back but wavy and sticking to his face in places from his sweat, a low cut tank top hanging from one shoulder, his arms toned and tattooed, a smile still on his face.

"That wasn't too bad was it, Potter?"

Harry sucks in a breath because after years, he sees what the rest of the world does. What the rest of the world wants. And he has it. Draco's first concert for this tour is less than 24 hours away.

He clears his throat.

"You did really good. It was amazing. It's cool to see the behind the scene productions of a real show."

"So," Draco isn't looking at him. He's pulling his shirt away from his body to wipe some sweat from his face and fan himself with it. The dark green polish on his nails is chipping off. "You uh- you don't think I was flat a little on the last chorus?"

"A little," Harry admits. "But it's just rehearsal. Plus you were dancing and singing most people would perform a song like that standing still or dancing with a lip sync. You did really good!"

"I can do better." Draco nods, but it isn't upset or disappointed, it's determined. He knows Harry won't lie to him and he wants this show to be perfect. He knows what needs to be fixed and he is determined to fix it. He kisses Harry's cheek before moving back over to the group of professional dancers and asking them for one more run through. Just to be sure. They look just as tired as he is, if not moreso, but they nod with determined smiles on their faces as well.

Harry goes to sit back down when his phone rings. He had finally put all his contacts in one place. It's an MRM, as Blaise likes too say. A magically reinforced muggle phone. They're ministry approved and luckily he doesn't have to worry about leaving this one in his kitchen drawer, but the name flashing on the screen keeps him coming up short.

It's not that they had been in a bad place, per say, but he hadn't expected to hear from her. Her and Draco and the kids...

Draco is practicing again, preening under Harry's attention, but his eyebrows furrow when the phone rings. He doesn't miss any steps but he does stumble for a second. Harry knows that look and shakes his head. The kids are fine, he tries to convey. Draco nods and continues his performance. Not a key is flat this time around even as he pushes the dances harder than before after his stumble. Harry freezes when the phone starts ringing again. Draco continues but motions for him to step outside since it's too loud. He nods before stepping out of the studio room and walking down the hall a bit until he's in Draco's dressing room lobby.

He gulps before answering.

"Val?"
