P R O L O G U E

It took him all the effort not to groan as his body slumped heavily against the wall, his dry, cracked lips only letting out a tired sigh that echoed in the empty room, traveling between the dirty walls.

He ducked his head in his small hands, forcing his mind to think straight but utterly failing as it panicked.



They were coming. They were coming! Was all his mind was chanting, not helping him to come out with a proper solution at all.


With a last, heavyhearted sigh, he looked out the window one more time before an idea darts from the very back of his mind; he needed to see her.

He knew he would be rejected, knew that he would widen that wound she tried hard to heal from a long time ago. But he had little choice, knowing that everybody wanted him dead. Everybody except her. Well, hopefully, except her.

He slowly got up, heading towards the exit while praying to reach his destination in one piece.
