This rant is probably going to be harsher than my usual ones, so I am apologizing in advance to anybody I may offend.
So many people have said before that real males are practically extinct on Wattpad, and I'm beginning to see why.
The amount of times I've seen somebody target a boy on this site and say stuff like "you're only famous because you have a dick" is really starting to piss me off.
Not only is that incredibly sexist, but you're also saying that as a male writer on Wattpad, we basically have no talent and are only here for the fame?
I find this incredibly unfair, considering one of the main reasons I actually joined Wattpad was to improve my writing and see if anyone actually found my works worth reading. It's even one of my distant dreams to become a published author one day.
I write because I love it, and literature is a passion of mine that has always been close to my heart.
Get one thing straight: I'm not here for the fame, or the fangirls, or anything else like that. I'm here because I love reading stories, sharing my own, and making friends.
And yet biased people will still come and say that the only reason people are reading my works is because I'm a boy.
Did it ever occur to you that maybe I poured my freakin' heart out into that keyboard, even waking up at 5 AM before school just to complete a chapter?
