Idiot

"(Y/n)-san please let Mahiru handle it!"- a classmate said

You were volunteering on sewing the costumes for the festival coming up, but your classmates knew what kind of person you are.

Being the only, weird idiot in your classroom you are well-known of your clumsiness, yet you just wanted to help Mahiru because you find it a bit bad making Mahiru do all the things alone even though he himself said it would be fine.

"No! I will help Mahiru-kun and that's final!"- you shouted standing up from your chair making everyone in class go silent

Then Sakuya interrupts the silence,"Let her be guys, it's not like Mahiru don't want (Y/n)-chan to help him, am I right Mahiru?"- he said then looks at Mahiru whose face was flushed red

'Ha? Is he alright? He isn't sick, is he?'

You asked in your mind and is planning to ask him later if he's alright or not.

*ding

The bell rang. Classes are dismissed, you quickly stood up after gathering your things and go to Mahiru.

"Hey! So, are we starting today?"- you asked, startling Mahiru because he was in the middle on talking with his friends then there goes you interrupting by asking that question.

"Ha? Oh--I mean, sure!"- he said scratching the back of his head and avoiding your gaze then again you saw his face going red

"Mahiru-kun.. are you alright?"- you asked worried all over your face

He flinched, then was about to answer you when Sakuya interrupted,"Hey guys, Koyuki remembered something he has to do, so we'll go home first, okay?"- he said then grabs Koyuki and Ryusei out of the room with him

'Damn that Sakuya!' Mahiru said in mind

"Oh.. so it leaves us two then! Let's go Mahiru-kun!"- you said and grabs his arm out of the room as well

You and Mahiru had already finished buying the things needed, and all that is left is to get them ready.

You were worried of Mahiru because his face was always red whenever you talk and grabs his arm and also when he talks he always stammered.

You wondered why.

You two were walking to your apartments, and fortunately, your apartment was just one room ahead of Mahiru's.

Since it was quite and will also took time to get there, you took this opportunity to ask Mahiru this..

"Ne Mahiru-kun?"- you called him, making him tensed up and slowly look at your direction

"Wh-What is it, (Y/-Y/n)-chan?"- he again stammered for the millionth time

You walked ahead of him, stopped and face in front of him making him stop walking.

You leaned at his tall figure then asks,"Are you really alright? You can tell me the truth you know."- you said and leaned back

His eyes widen and looks away,"I-I'm fine, I was just wondering.. wh-why you volunteered."- he said still looking away

You tilted your head then looks down, embarrassed on what your going to say,"Oh, you know first.. I though I was just pitying you because minna always puts the hard tasks on you so I wanted to help, but you know I had confirmed something while buying these things with you awhile ago.."- you stopped debating with your heart and mind if you would tell him or not

"Confirmed what?"- Mahiru asked curiously

You breathed in and out and looks at his eyes,"that... I like you, Mahiru-kun."

Then your clumsiness awoke, you suddenly covered your face completely forgetting the fact that you were holding the things you bought in a bag.

You then noticed it and didn't get to look at Mahiru's reaction.

"Waahh!! The threads!"- you shouted following the threads that were rolling away, unfortunately the road you two were walking, were going down.

When Mahiru finally came back to the world and noticed you were already gone..

"Wha?? (Y/n)-chan where are you???"

'I couldn't get to say, I like you back. I'm such an idiot!'

Mahiru mentally shouted and slaps his face with both of his hands, like what had happened to you, it also happened to Mahiru.

"Waahh! Come back here!"- Mahiru shouted also catching the rolling cloth.

You two end up in front of your apartment because fortunately the threads and cloths stopped there and Mahiru finally get to confess to you.

"(Y/n)-chan.. I.. I also like you."

And with that, you two started dating.
