"Mister Portman, may I ask you  something?" Asked Miss Peregrine, in front of my room.

It's already been five days since my friends moved into my house - my parent's, technically, but they were in the mental hospital - and so far, it has been great. They got used to modern life quite easily, all except Miss Peregrine.

I opened the door to see Miss Peregrine wearing a white blouse with a big black ribbon and a jean, holding her smart phone awkwardly.

"What's wrong, Miss Peregrine?" I asked.

"Oh, nothing's wrong. But for bird's sake, I can't understand why human invented this complicated small... box." Said Miss Peregrine, pointing at her smart phone.

I tried not to laugh, and asked her.

"What's the point that you can't get this time?"

"It's not what I can't get. I forgot. I forgot how to send a message." Said Miss Peregrine, frowning.

"Oh, I see." I said. Miss Peregrine handed me her phone.

"Can you show me one more time how to send a message?" She said.

"Yeah, of course. Sure." I said, receiving her phone. I gave her back her phone for Miss Peregrine to unlock her phone, and told her how to send a message.

"Do you know ho to go into the message app?" I asked. Miss Peregrine looked me into my eyes, squinting.

"Of course, Mister Portman. What do you take me for?" She said.

"Okay, then, you click the writing icon here." I pointed to a small icon. As soon as she nodded, I clicked the icon and went on. "Then you find the person you want to send the message."

"How do I do that?" She asked.

"You tap this long bar that says 'To', and write in the person's name." I said, and tapped in Jacob Portman for an example, but it had no results.

"Oh, I saved you as Mister Portman." She said. "But that's not important. What do I do next?"

"You write in the message you want to send in this box that says enter message, and click send when you're done." I finished.

"Oh, now I remember. Thank you, Mister Portman." She said, smiling a warm smile. I smiled back and as soon as she went down the staircase, I went into my room.

As I glanced at the clock, the numbers quickly changed into exactly 9:00PM. I threw myself to my bed, but then I heard another knock. "Ughh.." I groaned, digging my face into the pillow. "Who is it?"

"Emma. Just wanted to drop by with some muffins." Said Emma behind the door.

"That's really sweat but I'm not hungry now." I said, my face still in the pillow.

"Okay." She said, and I heard her feet march away.

Too many people knocked on my door asking for various things recently. Too many things to explain, and too many things they have to understand. I crawled into my blanket and decided to go to bed early.
