Small, lithe drops
Flicker across half shut lidsSullen memories fill
An ever more sullen voidThe temporary bliss they had searched for
Had given them their fill til it swiped the stars from their eyesThe golden ichor on their tongues,
That tasted of sweet nirvana
Had grown sour
And their mind were once more opened to the truthDrip.drop.drip.drop
The silence is just as deafening
As their frightened screamsDrop.drip.drip.drip
Swirls of twilight and celestial misgivings fill their gaze once more
Heads, upturned to morbid gods they once followedLambs to their wolfish Shepards
But, oh, how the
Minute droplets that stained their lips
Slipping down their
Aching facesTil but the sun
Could no longer
Kiss their sorrows dryThese droplets
No longer the gold of a promised havenBut the bloodred
Of broken hearts
