I stopped dead in my tracks and faced the wall, gliding my not broken finger over the scratches going down the length of the wall. That's from when they took Belle to shock therapy. Everyone was pissed because of that, that's how the old nurse lost her job and ms kitching was hired.

When I finally got to the main room, Mrs. Hardass stepped in front of me "you can thank ms kitching for taking her to the activity ward so you two can have some monitored time alone"she told me, clearly in a sarcastic and condescending way because if it were up to her, I would have my balls cut off.

I simply nodded and walked right passed her to the activity ward to see ms kitching bent over the sofa, she looked up when she heard me coming "Colby! I wasn't expecting you here so soon!"she said in shock, I furrowed my brows in confusion and nudged her out of the way to see Josie laying on the sofa, clutching a pillow and staring blankly at the wall, she was curled up and her face showed a look of panic.

"They tranquilized her"I spoke softly, sitting next to her on the couch and leaning over her to see her eyes. Sure enough her pupils were almost so huge there was only a sliver of gray left.

"W-we had to do it, we tried everything, when we strapped her down she bit an orderly, when we put a muzzle on her, she started scratching whoever she could reach"

I lifted up one of her hands to see her nails had been clipped down to the skin, I couldn't help but smile at the thought of her fighting so hard, she would be fine after the tranquilizer wore off but until then she would basically be a lifeless body, by the looks of her breathing and blinking- it wouldn't be long before it wore off.

"I'll leave you too alone, remember the cameras please"

When we were finally alone all I could do was stare down at her, rubbing her leg gently with the palm of my hand, I've learned from experience that when you are in a calm situation, it makes it alot easier to come down from the drugs they give you.

I didn't like the way she looked, so vulnerable and small as she held onto the pillow for dear life.

A deeper and more shaky breath made it's way out which caused my eyes to dart to her lips, I wanted to see her confident and loud self again, the Josie that I first met, more importantly I never want them to tranquilize her again.

"Colby."she spoke softly, barely above a whisper, I knelt down on the ground in front of her so I could look into her eyes.

"Colby, I don't want to go back there"she said, her expression looked sad or upset but she never shed a tear, that's how I know they threw her in solitary

"Thats okay, you don't have to go back there, I promise"I told her, sadly I couldn't be sure if I could somehow keep her out of solitary because I can't even keep myself out of solitary most of the time.

She sat up slowly and leaned back on the couch, I scanned her body and noticed something, I took her hand and slid the sleeve of her sweater up, revealing bruises around her wrist from the straps, I checked her other wrist and yet again the same mark "Josie do you have any other marks on you?"I asked her, she nodded and I watched as her hand dragged across the sofa and landed on her thigh, she scratched at the fabric as if trying to claw them off "here, I think"she spoke, becoming more and more coherent by the minute.

"Do you remember who did that?"I asked her and noticed part of her hoodie was ripped too and she had a sock missing. She must've fought hard.

I got up and walked until I reached the main office, looking through the glass "Why is she so bruised up? She's a small person, you didn't need to use that much force"I protested angrily, determined not to have another outburst.

"She's anemic, she gets bruises if you tap her "Mrs. Burns said.

"No, these bruises are bad, I'm surprised you guys didn't break any of her bones!"I shouted out of pure anger, ms kitching stood up and walked out, placing her hand on my shoulder "Come on, we can talk while we walk" she said and steeredme away from all the nurses.

"I'm sorry that this has happened, I really am but we were short some nurses and we had to strap her down, the bruises are from her fighting the retraints"she told me "what about the one on her thigh?"I asked and she went blank "I don't know what you are talking about"she said.

"Lets take her to her room and then I'll speak with her and take pictures of the bruises, how about that?" I simply nodded, just happy that Josie was even being acknowledged.

"Let just go grab a male-"

"No, I got it"I said and picked up Josie off the couch, she immediately wrapped her arms around my neck and hold on, her head fell forward and leaned against my chest as I carried her, to be completely honest I just didn't like the thought of another guy carried her to her room when I was perfectly capable of doing so. Call me jealous of you want..
