The Devils Spawn Part 5.

His hand shoots out "welcome to the Strong household, I'm Daniels father and I guess you lost my son after you walked in" he chuckles. I shake his hand and then look around me realizing that I have lost Daniel already and I've only been in his house ten minutes.

"Don't worry ill find him" he leaves me standing in the living room awkwardly not knowing if I should sit down or just stay standing or if I should follow him in the search for his missing son. I look around the living room and notice the usual sofa and television on the wall and shelves with photos and awards and medals. I smile at how welcoming the house feels and I walk towards all the awards and medals curious to what they are for. I see some with art or science or for spelling competitions, I smile at the amount of awards and take a science one from the shelf and hold it in my hands admiring it.

"He's very good at art" a females voices comes from next to me, I jump almost dropping the award, I look at her and see she is smiling up at me. She has sandy brown hair, blue eyes and pale skin, now I see exactly where Daniel gets his looks and his petite little body. I smile down at her.

"Hi, I'm Daniels mum" she puts her small little hand out for me to shake.

I politely take her tiny hand in my larger hand and shake it, "well hello ma'am, its lovely to meet you, I'm Anthony" I introduce myself.

"Oh, I've heard a lot of good things about you, my baby boy has been a lot happier since you came along, he actually sits and talks to us now but before he would come home and lock himself in his room, I don't know what you done to my baby boy but I'm thankful" she smiles at me but I can see the pain in her eyes as she tells me about how he never said a word to them and how he would never eat and always take about how he would rather die than live the life he is living, but since I came along he is all talk about everything which is good.

"I'm glad to help, he is so nice and he doesn't deserve to be bullied like that, he hasn't done anything wrong to deserve that and I couldn't stand back and watch like every other student in that school so I stepped up and helped out like a normal person would" I look at her and feel another presence in the room, I turn my head to the doorway to see Daniel and his father have suddenly had a reappearance.

She hugs me not saying a word, I freeze not expecting it but slowly wrap my arms around her tiny body hugging her knowing exactly why she is hugging me. She buries her head into my shoulder and I feel her little body trembling and I can tell she is crying. "Thank you" I hear her mumble against my top. She pulls away "I'm sorry it's just so nice to know someone other than myself and Daniels father actually care about him" she smiles with her eyes full of tears, some rolling down her cheeks and her eyes are all red and bloodshot from crying.

I wipe the tears away from her face, "its ok no need to cry anymore" I reassure her. "Please don't cry because you'll have me in tears in seconds" I say with a slight blush on my cheeks.

I hear her giggle and then hear a little laugh from the doorway which has become music to my ears by now. I turn to see Daniel giggling along with his mother, his dad leaning against the snow white door frame with his arms folded over his chest again. I notice a tiny smile on his face but then he clears his throat for the second time since I entered the house. We all turn to look at him "why don't we all go into the kitchen and talk, your mum just made her famous triple chocolate cookies" he turns and walks out of the room, my mouth waters from the words 'triple chocolate cookies'. I quickly trail behind them catching the smell of the cookies which has now turned my mouth into a water fountain. We all walk into the kitchen and take a seat at the table, Daniel and myself on one side of the table and his parents facing us on the other. There is a huge plate full of the cookies in the middle of the table and each of us having a glass of lemonade on front of us, I see Daniels tiny hand reach and take two cookies handing one to me "I know you won't take one" he smiles and nibbles on his. His mother smiles brightly at both of us.
