60- On The Radio

-I'll leave, I'll leave the two of you alone- I stand up and walk out of the classroom

I go back to the cafeteria where Izzy and Rosie are eating with Theo and Mike. I seat on the empty chair and release a loud sigh.

-What's going on with Luke?- Izzy asks

-He's not going through a good time right now, his parents are separated and when he went to see his mom, he found her with a guy in bed- I explain

-Who?!- Rosie asks

-Me!- Leo places the drinks on the table

Everyone's eyes widen, they can't  quite comprehend what Leo is saying.

-Anyways... I wish there is a way I can make him feel better- I say like the information they just received was something normal

-Well, find something he likes and I don't know , do something related to it, so he can't forget a little bit about family drama- Leo suggests

-Music!! I can show a demo to a producer- I think

-What about the one he wrote for you at the party? I can ask the DJ from your party to see if he still has a copy- Leo offers

-We can give it a try- I say

-I'm almost done with my shift, let's go after- Leo says

-You already miss a lot of classes, don't you think missing more is going to affect you- Rosie says

-I'll fix that later- I say

When we arrive to the DJ's house and knock a few times, the DJ opens the door and greet us. Once we are inside we ask him if he still have the songs from my party and he looks in his computer, I tell him the exact song I want and after a few seconds, he finds it. He gives me a copy and say bye to him before we head out. I call my mom to see if she could ask her producer friends to give the demo to them. After a while, my mom calls me again with the answer, the producer is going to be waiting for us. We drive to the address my mom sent me through text and when we arrive, the security let us in since he already knew we were coming.

We walk inside the record label and into the record studio where the producer is at.

-Oh, Hey Nicole!- JT, the producer notices me walking in and walks in my direction

-Hey, JT, thanks for having us with such a short notice- I say

-No problem, you know I can't refuse your mother's requests... where is it?- He asks about the demo

-Oh! Here!- I hand the demo to him and he goes to play it while Leo and I are still standing in the same spot

-You can get closer if you want- JT offers

-This is so cool, I always wanted to be inside a recording studio... do you think I can take pictures?- Leo asks JT and he says he doesn't mind

After getting the answer he wanted, he runs back to the car to get the camera in the backseat. Since I want to stay, I ask him for my jacket, which is also in the backseat because it's a little bit cold inside. After Leo leaves, the song starts playing and JT seems impressed from the beginning of the song.

-This is your friend? He's really good, do you think he can come next time to talk?- He asks

-Of course, he's also in a band, do you think you can hear them all?- I ask

-That'll be okay, I can listen to the band before making my decision, as for now, if he's in, I'm in- He says

-Another favor, do you think this demo can come out on the radio..today? I want to surprise him since he hasn't been in a good state lately- I explain

-I don't promise you anything but I'll try, I'll tell you if anything- He says

Leo walks in with the camera starts taking pictures from different angles, he acts like nobody else is there when he's with that camera, he goes to his own world.

-Hey, Nic, can you stand next to microphone and pretend you are singing?- He asks

I'm about to argue but I don't, instead I sigh before standing next to microphone. He starts taking a few pictures. I think he thinks I'm his personal model. Once we are done with the modeling section, we drive back to the school.

At school everyone is already coming out of the last period of the day and they start their free time. I wait outside the classroom to see if Luke comes out but nothing, I probably missed him. Leo decides to go to my house, instead of staying longer and causing trouble if Luke sees him, after all he followed my advice. When I turn around to leave, I find my dad, who was standing behind me.

-You scared me- I jump

-Well, you left the school, again, missing class again, tell me is this how you are going to graduate at this rate?- He asks

-I do have all of my credits, you know, from homeschooling, you can say I'm gifted- I give a smile

-Anyhow. I don't want to see you skipping class again, at least no without your mom or my permission, got it?- He asks without the demanding tone a father would have

- Fine, Alex, I'll try- I smile at him before walking past him to leave

-Wait?! Do you think we can take a picture? I don't have one- He says

-Now?!.... Okay- I look around to see if no one's watching before taking out my phone from my pocket. I stand next to him, he places his arm over my shoulder and smile ear to ear. I take a few pictures to pick from before the phone vibrates; it's a message from JT telling me in 10 minutes, the song will be playing on the radio

-Omg! I have to go, I'll send them to you, I just need to do something first- I run to the media room at our school and wait for the right moment to walk in

Since no one is really aloud, I wait for no one to be there to sneak in. Once I do that, I connect the radio to the speaker, the entire school could listen to the song now. I wait for the song to begin and turn the volume up so they can hear loud and clear. When I walk out from the room, I find my dad waiting for me.

-What exactly are you doing?- He asks

-...I thought the school needed some music...- I try to make up an excuse, not a very good one I suppose

-Why do I bother? I was just like you and honestly I don't even know how to ground you so let's just get out of here before someone sees- He says and we are about to live before Luke runs in

Luke runs in agitated, covered in water and just a towel. I laugh at his state before I see all the girls running after him to see him, that's when my blood started boiling from jealousy.
