Chapter 18
I put my head down because I knew who was at the door. It was the only person that should be here. My dad.
"Oh I'll just get that." Said Autumn's mother.
I saw Autumns face flush then look at me. She put her hand on my shoulder and said:
"It's going to be okay. Just compromise?"
"Okay. I'll try. I mean he kicked me out of our house."
"Yea I know but I want the best for you two okay?"
"Okay. I know."
About this time my dad came running out of that front door almost chocking me from grabbing a hold of my neck.
"So you missed me?"
"More than you can believe."
"Wow. Oh thanks Autumn for letting me stay. I guess I have to go back home now."
"Don't mention it."
I hugged every person in that room except her dad. I just shook his hand to be on the safe side.
"Bye! Thank you."
"Your welcome Taylor! It was a pleasure! And I will forward the information to Autumn!"
"What?"
"Nothing." Autumn's mom said.
On the way home I started to see my dad cry for the first time since mom died.
"I thought you were gone too." He shuttered.
"No dad I'm never going to leave you."
He grabbed my head and ruffled my hair. I pulled down the mirror and fixed it.
