Link x mute reader (Modern/Soulmate Au)

I took out a sharpie and started to write on my arm.

"Hello are you there?" Something awful just happened and I need someone to talk to."

"Sorry I can't talk right now, I'm leaving my class to look for someone."

"Oh? Why are you looking for someone?"

"Well this girl I have in my math class is mute and the teacher was making fun of her because of it. My 'friend' Zelda was laughing too when the girl left the room. I asked to be excused and she told me not to worry about the little nobody. But I felt bad and left to go find her."

I paused for a moment. "Wait.... they're in my math class!?" I thought to my self frantically.

"Who are you!? Because I was in that class!"

"Really!? I can't believe it! Who tf are you?"

"I'm not gonna say~"

"Awww c'mon. Oh I'm heading to the library to see if that girl is in there. Meet me there?"

"What the actually hell, I'm there right now! But I want to ask something, why are you so obsessed with finding this girl?"

I can't believe who ever this person is cares about me. I wonder who it is though.

"Well I've actually always wanted to talk to her for awhile but my friends always say that she's not popular enough even though that's bs. And I thought it would be weird if I just walked up to her and started a conversation. And she doesn't know that I know sign language. Oh yeah I do know sign language by the way."

"Oh that's cool and I'll be waiting for you at the library, I'm sitting in the very back table and I'm the only one around. I'll see you soon bye."

"Ok bye."

I put my sharpie up and pulled out a sketchbook and started to draw random things. I stopped mid sketch when I heard someone enter the library. It was the famous blue hoodie wearing blond boy himself. I don't know why Link would be in the library but hey he has his reasons. While I was looking at him he turned and faced me. He tilted his head before looking around, and then heading towards me. Activate panic mode. While I sat there having a silent heart attack, Link got closer and closer until he was right in front of me. He pointed to the unoccupied chair. "Do you mind if I sit here?" I quickly shook my head as he sat down and sat his stuff beside him. He looked up at me again before resting his arms on the table and leaning in closer. "Sorry for disturbing you but I just wanted to make sure you're ok after that class incident." I just nodded my head before giving a thumbs up and smiling slightly. He tilted his head once more and looked at my arm. I forgot about the sharpie so once I noticed I immediately put my arm back down in my lap. Link smiled slightly before putting his arm out and pulling up his sleeve.

There on his arm was blue and black sharpie of the entire conversation I just had with my soulmate. I blushed so much finally realizing what that meant. "Link is my... soulmate?" Link smiled before he spoke. "You can write or sign your words if you want, I'm ok with either one." I nodded before signing. "So you were blue sharpie, It's kind of weird to think that we're soulmates, I mean we're so different from each other." Link shrugged, "Opposites really do attract even though I don't think we're that different. We both love theatre, both of us can do sign language, and lastly both of us are good looking~."

I blushed as Link smirked before chuckling. "Why are you blushing so much? I'm just stating a fact." I sat there for a moment before signing. "Why me? I'm shy and can't talk. I don't look good, and I'm always embarrassing around other people. I just... I just don't understand why you like me? Is it just because we are soulmates, or did you like me before that?" Link chuckled before he stood up and moved to the chair that was right beside me. Once again I blushed as he scooted closer to me. "(Y/n) I've always liked you I've just been to shy to say anything. And I didn't know who you were when we were talking through sharpie and was only one day so I didn't know how I felt about that person. But I'm so glad it was you!" He leaned in and gave me a little kiss on the forehead. I blushed a little before signing something. It was to late before I had realized what I just signed. "If you were so glad you wouldn't have missed my lips." Link blushed a little and I quickly shook my head and signed. "Omg I have no idea where that came from, I'm so sorry I..." I was cut off by Link grabbing my hands and him gently kissing my lips. I swear I could melt the entire Antarctica with the heat of my face. But I of course kissed back. After a few moments we separated,  and Link cupped my face and smiled gently.

"Like I said I was glad it was you." He kissed my head one more time before standing up, and pulling me up with him. "Hey you wanna ditch this place and go get something to eat? I have some cash so we could go to that little café that's not too far away if we walk." I nodded before signing. "Hell yeah I'd love to get out of here!" I quickly gathered my thing while Link did the same. There was a back door and stairs in the back of the library for some reason, so most kids used that to escape without getting caught. We both made our way down the stairs and walked hand in hand to the café, where we spent the rest of the day talking and drinking coffee. While of course having a few sweets here and there. But no matter what we did this would've still been the best day of my life. Because my soulmate was an amazing person and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Omg I did it! I updated! I'm sooooo sorry I've been busy with school, and I rewrote this chapter multiple times because I had a lot of ideas but none of them fit. Then to get inspiration I went to a website about soulmate ideas and went with this one. If you liked it vote, and I'll see you guys later. Peace~
