with a smile so kind
and a face so pure
i should have known from the start
i should have known that you were going to break my heart
that dazzling laugh
and the way you run your fingers through your hair
i should have known better
i should have read the signs on the road
but quite frankly i don't know how to drive
it's quite the disappointment that time wasn't on my side
wasted days
that pure face
and things i shouldn't say
will haunt me in so many ways
