Chapter Twenty-three: A Mate And A Betrayer

Start from the beginning

"Funny enough, we had a conversation with him that led us to discovering that he is our son," Darius says with a smile.

"That explains some things. Dax has old and powerful Witch blood running through his veins, which is why he was able to slow down the virus without a talisman," Irelia says to me clearing away my confusion.

"Speaking of Dax, Lady Irelia, we were wondering if we could give him his talisman and teach him how to use it, also, we would like to see his Wolf form?" Mirana asks. Irelia looks at me before she speaks.

"Sounds good to me, start whenever you want," she tells them. "About shifting, can we trust you and your pack, even the rogue, to not use your Wolf for violence here?" Irelia asks me.

"Yes, though, I'll let you know that we learned of this coven through our Wolf deities and, on the way back from that visit, we were attacked by the Wolf pack that probably commissioned the virus. If they show up near your lands, we will deal with it, considering that we're probably putting you in danger by coming here. And I don't want any of your people in the cross fire of a Wolf problem ether," I tell her.

"That's quite noble of you Russell, but while you are here as guests and on our land, you're under our protection," Irelia says sounding amused.

"Maybe we compromise and fight together if something happens?" I suggest, raising my hands in question.

"You know, I like you Russell. I think we'll be great allies and friends," she says seriously.

"I think so too," I say with a nod.

"With that in mind, we will start Dax's training with some defensive Magic if that's ok?" Mirana says looking between me and Irelia who nods her head.

"Sounds good to me, I'd feel better knowing he can protect himself," I say. "Though, I can feel that he is sleeping right now and I'm pretty tired too so I'm going to join him. I'll send him to you later and you can ask him then if he wants to train," I add as I stand up and yawn.

"Alright, tell him to head to the training grounds," Darius says as he and Mirana stands up as well.

I smile. "See you all tomorrow." Just then Irelia looks like she is going to talk so I wait.

"Officially I allow Dax to practice Magic and the members of the Windfall pack, and Dante, to shift while on the island. Until next time," Irelia says with a wave. I thank her before I walk out of the building and head to the guest house after getting directions from Mirana. When I walk into the building, I see Jess and Charlie sitting on the couch talking with Orion and Dante. They wave me over so I sit on the couch next to Orion.

"How'd it go?" He asks. I look at him then sigh contently.

"It went very well. They are going to set up a portal to the pack lands so they can start to work on reversing the virus. Also, we are able to shift when we want and we're also unofficially allied with this coven," I explain. "Dax's parents want to train him so they are going to start that tomorrow, if Dax is up for it, while we wait for them to get the portal up."

I then look at Dante. "I have trusted you so far but we have a lot riding on this so I advise you not to do anything that might seem aggressive in your Wolf form. We cant communicate though a link so I wouldn't be able tell them what's on your mind," I tell him seriously.

"That'll be no problem," says Dante with a nod.

"It's great they are being so friendly. To be honest, I didn't really think they would be," Jess comments.

"Me ether really," Orion says. Just then the voice of Irelia sounds through the room.

"Forgot to mention that we are not accustomed to nudity here so when you turn into Wolves and back again, please make sure its behind a tree or in the guest house. Thank you and that'll be all 'till tomorrow," she says, her voice fading away at the end.
