Namjoon - Bangtan's Leader

Before the Performance

The year is 2017. Bangtan is getting ready for their performance of DNA, their newest hit. The members are scattered backstage, all waiting for their time to shine. The show starts in an hour.

Jin’s perspective

“I’m so nervous.” Jin whispered under his breath. His gaze met Namjoon’s and they both cracked a small smile. “Jin hyung, we’ve been doing this for years. How come you’ve never brought this up?” Namjoon asked. “No one else has. How could I, the oldest, be feeling like this when no one else has? You know how I feel about being here. I ruined Bangtan.” Namjoon faced Jin with a frown. “Hyung, how could you say that? Without you, or any of the other members, Bangtan wouldn’t be Bangtan.” A tear slid down Jin’s face. Namjoon wiped it off and gently grabbed Jin’s hands. “You were meant to be here. Don’t you ever think otherwise.” Jin crookedly smiled and pulled Namjoon into a hug. “Thank you.”

What feels like moments later, lights start blinking and cheers are heard from miles away. The members make their way on to the stage one by one, and Namjoon pulls Jin aside. “You’re worth it.” Jin smiled and playfully hit Namjoon. “You are too.”

Jin and Namjoon appear on stage when the song begins to play, the other members with looks of confusion and anxiousness. Namjoon nods in agreement and gives two thumbs up. ARMY’s around the stadium scream their fanchant, sounding like lightning striking a forest. The music booms loudly, lights of all colours flash brightly around the stadium, army bombs all around move rhythmically together to the beat. Bangtan performs astonishingly and ends their performance with a group hug.

Namjoon huddled closer to Jin and they were in their own world aside from reality.
