"We cannot go after them. Esther says so specifically. What if she knows something we do not?" Thor says to her.
"Look the systems are all compromised and we can't get it up and running with those things running all over us so I think our best bet is to try and get out," Banner explains.
"I agree," Steve says. "The way forward is not to cower behind enemy lines. It's fighting to win. We'll head to the coast where they have military operations set up and we will do what we can there. Are there any more S.H.I.E.L.D. bases that would be of any help to us in New York?"
Natasha thinks on that. She and Barton would be the only ones to know. "Our main headquarters is there. But I wonder if it's still... well standing..." she says.
"Or if it's been taken over by Hydra..." Steve sighs.
Some looks are exchanged.
"Well our only option is to check it out, right?" Tony points out.
"And if we get ambushed by Hydra?" I ask.

"So what's the plan?" Pietro asks.

Steve thinks for a moment.
"If we're leaving we should go now. It'll be dark soon and if we wait 'til tomorrow morning there will be more of those things out there than we started with today," Romanoff states.
