viii. Are You Just A Dream

54 18 3

Are you just a dream?
Sweet like peaches and cream;
But unreal and fictional?
Just a piece of my imagination?

Are you just a dream?
When I see you there; are you really there?
Or am I just seeing things?
Is my mind simply playing games?

When I see you standing there;
When you smile and wink at me;
When you brush past me;
Are you really there?

Am I just seeing things?
Like princes, knights and kings?
Tell me now before oblivion rings
In my ears and death sings,
Beckoning me to him; for we are mere human beings.
