"You just looked sad and unsure. You didn't have to kiss me if you didn't want to."
"Who said I didn't want to? I wouldn't have kissed you if I didn't want to."
"Are you sure that you are alright?"
"Yes," he said with a sigh. "I'm fine Kayt." He looked over at me and bit on his lower lip. I grabbed onto his hand.
"Come home with me," I said. "I want you to eat dinner with me."
He nodded slowly. "Can we stop by my place first?"
"Need a fix?"
"Exactly," he said and we stood up. I still held his hand as he opened the door to his house. He led me up the stairs without looking at his parents. I looked at them and the father started following us up the stairs.
"Jackson," his father called. "Who's your friend?"
"She is nobody from nowhere now leave us alone." He ushered me into his room and slammed the door shut. He locked the door as I looked around the room. It was covered with pictures. There was one picture of a girl next to his bed. I walked over to it and grabbed the frame. He smiled at me a little.
"This is Alicia?" I said and he nodded. I could see why he fell for her. She long blonde hair and tan skin. Her eyes were wide and blue.
"Yeah," he said. "I should probably put that picture away. It's been haunting me for too long." He sat next to me on his bed and I handed him the picture. He threw it under his bed and grabbed a camera. He smiled at me. "Say cheese Kayt."
I laughed and smiled for him. "What's that picture for?"
"A new picture to put next to my bed," he said with a smile. He put the camera under his bed and grabbed a bag. He smiled at me a little when he grabbed a bag of cocaine. He snorted a little bit of it right away. He looked more relaxed immediately.
I grabbed his hand after he put away the drugs. We ran out of his house and I walked him towards mine.
Jacob
I looked out my bedroom window to see Kayt and Jackson. She was holding onto his hand and he looked high again. He seemed happy though. I turned back and smiled at Alex. He smiled back and I walked over to him. I pressed my lips to his and he kissed back.
He was still scared of our relationship. He should be, because my heart was only partially in this. My heart still belonged to another. I hugged him before he left and walked downstairs. Kayt and Jackson were watching TV on the couch. I sat down on one of the chairs and watched as she cuddled up against him. He smiled down at her and I clenched my teeth.
"Getting a little close there?" I said.
"It's not too close when it's your boyfriend," she said and he smiled at me.
My hands clenched into fists at my sides. "You only met him today."
"So," she said and kissed his cheek. "We're a lot alike. We know so much about each other already."
I shook my head and Jackson chuckled quietly. "Don't worry Jacob. I won't hurt Kayt. I care too much to hurt her."
I bit on my lip, not wanting to say anything I shouldn't. Jackson seemed to notice that and he sneered at me. He pulled Kayt closer and she smiled, even happier. When our parents got home, on the other hand, she separated from him and grabbed his hand. Her mom walked in and smiled. "Hey kids," she said. "Kayt, who's your friend?"
