I wake up on the stone cold bathroon floor. I groan in pain, I now have a lump on my forehead.
I get to my feet, looking into the mirror. It isn't as bad as I imagined it would be. But the bruises were now noticeable. Since I am already in here, I do my makeup. Then cover the bruises with foundation.
I hear footsteps thud down the stairs, running towards the bathroom. I check the time on my phone, 7:45.
"Hey! I need to get ready," Max says, getting out his hair gel.
"Since when did you use hair gel?" I laugh slightly, curious. I scruff up his hair, which he laughs a little at.
"I have a girlfriend," he says, combing gel through his hair.
"Since when?" I ask.
"Last week. I asked her out but now I need to make an effort to impress her because she's been talking heaps to my best friend," he explains sadly. I put the hair gel away, frowning.
"Buddy, you don't have to impress her," I say, sitting on the edge of the bath.
"Why?" he asks, looking down.
"Because she should like you just the way you are and respect you enough to stop talking to your friend," I tell him.
"How do I make her stop?" he asks, interested.
"Tell her to, that you don't like it," I say, standing back up.
"I mean, I'll try," he shrugs, "what happened to your head?"
"I fell off my bed last night," I lie, pushing hair in front of the graze.
"Are you sure you're okay? You still have bruises on your legs," he says, looking at them.
"I'm okay, just have been clumsy," I laugh. He walks into the kitchen, while I go upstairs. I walk into my room, closing the door behind me.
I hold my phone tightly, taking it out of my jumper pocket. I unlock it, texting Aaron.
From me:
I need to tell you something
From Aaron❤:
What's up?
From me:
Are you coming to Australia?
From Aaron❤:
Yeah tomorrow... i wanted to surprise you. Is everything okay?
From me:
Yeah, I'll tell you when you get here
From Aaron❤:
Okay. I can't wait to see you x
From me:
Me either x
I put my phone back in my pocket, then think about what I can do today. I remember that there's a few things in my room I want to change.
I quickly have some breakfast, so I didn't starve. Max joins in quickly, before running out of the house.
"That kid is always in a rush," my mother says, "what are your plans for today?"
"I was thinking about redecorating my room," I reply.
"You could look for colleges," she says, drinking down her coffee.
"Mum I ca-" I go to speak but get interrupted.
"So many colleges have asked for you! You always wanted to be a teacher?" she says, enthusiastically.
