"Are you disrespecting your queen?" Maven asked, trying not to lose his mind.
"Of course not, Sire," the councilman defended, "I was merely suggesting that the kingdom may have reacted better if you had chosen one of their own kind."
"I think," you decided to speak up for yourself, "that the Reds are much more likely to support the crown if one of their own was queen. And let's not forget, we are at war with them, not the Silvers."
Maven nodded at you and the rest of the council murmured its agreement while he was thinking of how to make the councilman's murder look like an accident.
