Chapter Twenty-Three

-(y/n)'s P.O.V-

How could I be so stupid?! There's that fish that uses its light to lead new people away.

I quickly dived back in, to find Gladion swimming towards the fish's open mouth.

I was about to scream, but I remembered that we were underwater.

So, instead, I swam full-speed ahead to pull Gladion away.

He looked slightly surprised, but then looked scared.

I then turned around, to see the fish looking angry.

.. Just as I had feared.

Normally this fish doesn't bother people. So, why is it just now attacking us?

I quickly pulled Gladion towards the surface, but Gladion was starting to slowly drown.

.. He was running out of air...

I then saw the fish swim towards us with great speed.

... I won't let Gladion go out like this! If he died... Then it'd be all my fault!

So I grabbed a newly unconscious Gladion, and tossed him towards the surface with all of my strength.

Just after doing so, the fish caught up to me, and bit me on the leg.

I opened my mouth to scream, instantly regretting it.

.. My air... It's starting to run out...

... Not, I don't want to die...

... Please... Someone...

... Save me...
