Zaid's POV
I entered home after a tiring day at office , I was surrounded by darkness . Then in a millisecond all the lights were turned on and the sight left me shocked . A cake was placed on the table and the house was decorated fully like some birthday party was going on . Then all of them including Faariya , Maha , Granny and Annie came from there hiding spot . Then Annie came forward with the snow spray and started spraying that disgusting thing on me while all were wishing me birthday .
My blood was boiling with anger , I hate birthdays . After that incident , i never celebrated my birthday and they all know that very well then why are they doing this crap . I think it must be Annie of course she is the one who always pokes her nose in between other's personal issues . "What the hell is going on ??"I yelled causing Annie to flinch "Its your birthday today "she said while trying not to cry "Who told you to do this ?" I snapped at her "Enough Zaid ....."Granny warned to which I cut her in middle "You have no right to pry in our lives , you are only here as a therapist no more than that so stay in your limits "I said while pointing my finger at her , tears were flowing down from her eyes . "You are right Zaid I mean Sir "she said formally while correcting herself and left the room . I turned back to see three scowling face " you just insulted her because of your misconceptions of past "Maha snapped at me "You shouldn't have done this , she was so excited you just ruined her mood "this time it was Faariya who took Annie's side . "Zaid she is so naive and its my fault that it slipped out of my tongue but I can't see her sad so do anything to make her happy or we are never gonna talk to you "Granny threatened me and they all left me standing there alone .
Annie's POV
I was sitting at the edge of the terrace of my room , my eyes were teary . I hugged myself to console myself that I am fine . Although , he insulted me . Maybe it was my fault that I was too much involving with them and in their personal matters. I left the door of my room opened because I was feeling suffocated , i was now tired of crying . I was going inside when my eyes landed on Zaid standing in front of me with a guilty expression. I ignored him and started walking pass by him when he took hold of my wrist to stop me . I stopped in my tracks , our eyes met and there was guilt and regret in his eyes . "Listen to me "he requested softly "Yes Sir "I tried to act formally which was very difficult . "Firstly , don't call me Sir "he said feeling guilty " Its part of my job and the fact is that you are my Sir "I uttered those words out of my mouth "Please I am guilty and I did not meant any of it "He pleaded still not breaking eye contact "But you said so "I said softly on which he lowered his gaze in shame . Well he should be shameful . "Yeah but I regret that and you know I am ..... "Sorry "I completed the sentence "Yeah maybe "he said and unknowingly an evil smile crept onto my lips . "Well if you will say 'I am sorry ' then we will be on good terms again otherwise you can hire any other therapist "I said sternly "No I ..i mean we need you "he quickly corrected himself "Why ?? You can hire any international therapist then why me ?"I questioned curiously because I wanted an answer to this question "Well I don't know but its like you have now become a part of my life " he said causing me to blush "Really " I said tentatively causing Zaid to blush which is rare "Okay I am sorry "he said apologetically which made my smile grew wider . "Its Okay "I said and he smiled at me "Lets cut the cake "he said and I gave him an 'are you mad 'kind of look "Oh come on "he held my hand and dragged me towards the hall where everything was decorated as previously . He picked up the knife , blew the candles and cut the cake . He then shoved one piece of cake into my mouth and I did the same .

I handed him my gift which he started unwrapping eagerly like a little child . It was a Rolex watch , I bought it for Atif but when I heard about his birthday I decided to give it to him . "There was no need of a gift , this all was enough " He said surprised at my gift " we can do anything for those whom we care for "I said sincerely "So it means you care for me ?" He asked "May or may not "I said with a smirk while he became non plussed "Good night " I said and left a confused Zaid standing there . I entered the room and banged the door with a loud thud I hopped on my bed and reminisced all the memories of today which caused me to blush and smile both at the same time . With these wonderful thoughts , sleep engulfed me .
