DDDDANG DANG DIGITY DANG DANG...

________________________

Christmas was always my favorite time of year. I loved the way everyone got happier over the holidays. This year, however, was going to be different. For better or for worse. Jake couldn't go ice skating with me, Michael and Jeremy this year. Well... you know why.

Michael and Jeremy were currently dating, only telling people they were closest to. (Which was me and Jake, I was so proud of my boys). It was cute how they both left class together and acted very awkward and flirty around each other.

I took the gang to ice skate, while I sat with Jake so he wasn't lonely, we watched Michael help Jeremy skate. Michael yelled something to Jeremy in a different language and they both laughed.

"Nerds!" (GOOD BO BURNHAM SONG). I laughed at the two who glared over at me laughing slightly. Jake sighed, sadly. I turned over to him. I really hoped that I hadn't upset Jake.

"I dunno, it's kinda cute how much they like each other," he whispered. I looked back at the two. Michael was tucking some of Jeremy's hair behind his ear and kissing his cheek.

"I didn't-"

"Save it," Jake sighed, ignoring me.

I watched Jake wheel away. I looked away angrily. Why couldn't I keep my stupid mouth shut? It was Christmas time! I heard the sound of ice skates coming towards me and I looked up. It was Michael. Jeremy had skated over to talk to Jake.

"Hey man," Michael sighed, "How ya doing?" I sat there staring at my former crush. Do I tell Michael the truth? Or do I lie to him?

"Ill? I feel ill I should probably go home," I stood up, and tripped over my two feet. Michael saved me from falling completely on my face. I could see Jeremy from across the ice rink, saddened. I had to stop. I had to stop.

"You don't have to, skate with us," I gulped, looking across the rink at Jake who was whispering something to Jermey. I wish he could hear what they were saying...

(jake's pov)
"Rich likes you, Jake. I can see it in his eyes. I've never seen so much want and hurt in someone's eyes before," Jeremy whispered to me. I was glancing at Rich, who was talking to Michael. I felt sick. I didn't want to be watching Rich flirt with Michael and vise versa.

I guess Jeremy didn't want to watch either. He took off on his skates towards Rich who was looking awkward in this particular situation. I leaned forward in my dumb chair. This was about to get fun.

"Hey Richard!" Jeremy yelled, skating next to Michael and hugging him from behind. "Step off my man," Rich seemed to freeze visibly, and not from the cold. I felt shivers going up my arms. Would this be us one day? Rich standing up for me because we were together.

God, together.

"We were just playing," Rich rolled his eyes. He seemed somewhat fazed by the full name. Did Rich hate his full name?

I had been sat down in my chair for another hour,  then Rich came over to me. He helped roll me out of the area. In the parking lot he helped me into the front seat of his car.

"Thanks for this night," I said politely.

"You were stuck sitting down all night!" he laughed. I froze. I was just trying to be nice!

"Well if you weren't so dang dang hot I wouldn't have sat around all day watching these two love birds twiddle their thumbs!" I blurt. Rich stared at me, for a few seconds. Then he leaned towards me, waiting a few seconds to see if I would stop him and I didn't.

I watched as he leaned forward and kissed me, this had been the best day of my life.

" 'Cause he knew he was gay! "
