"So, do you think your mom is gonna let you come to Florida with me for spring break?" Katie asks, flipping through pages of Teen Vogue magazine.

Katie is my other half and my best friend, but I highly doubt my mom is going to let me go to Florida for spring break. When she hears the words spring break, she thinks of alcohol, drugs, parties, and hooking up—which she is not wrong. Of course everyone is going to let loose during spring break because they cannot do all those things while school is in. Well, they can, but they know it is a better option not to. I am honestly stoked about the idea of going to Florida, considering I have never been. It is just that I know my mom and I know she will object the idea, even if it is Katie who I would be going with. My mom is really overprotective at times.

"Eh," I shrug my shoulders. "She probably won't."

"Ugh, why?" She groans. "I can't go without my best friend. My parents are even letting Zack come. They're paying for everything, too."

"First of all, if she finds out your boyfriend is going, she's definitely not gonna let me go." I hold up a finger. "She's just strict. You know that."

"Well, I'm gonna have my parents talk to her. There's no way I'm going to Florida without you. This is our freaking senior year, we're basically grown. We know what to do and what not to do. It's our last break before everything becomes serious and then we're off to college."

"You can try all you want. I'm telling you she's not gonna let me go." I shake my head.

"We have two weeks to persuade her." She holds up two fingers.
