The two soon fell asleep, still embracing each other. Sophia felt safe with Jonah, she felt like she could be herself without having to hold anything back. Despite not talking to the boy in over two weeks, it felt as if they'd been talking the whole time. She wasn't mad at him anymore, how could she be? He came to her house and apologized. Sophia didn't have much experience with boys but she knew that she had been the one in the wrong this time, and yet Jonah still came to apologize. He didn't do anything wrong and he still apologized. She realized she shouldn't have been so rude to him.

As they laid beside each other all curled up, footsteps approached the front door. It was about six at night, Sophia's mother was due to be home any moment. Keys rustled outside the door, you could hear the struggle as they tried to find the correct key to unlock the door. After a moment, the right key was found and the door swung open. Both Sophia and Jonah jumped up, unsure of what had happened.

They both scrambled up from their spots on the couch. Sophia's eyes darted to the clock. 6:13. Her heart started to race when she realized the person in the foyer was most likely her mother. She quickly thought to hide Jonah anywhere she could. "Quick" she whispered lowly. "Get in the backyard" she pushed the boy through the kitchen and out the back door. She gave him a quick smile before pushing him out the back door and closing it behind him. She scrambled back to the couch and tried to look as casual as she could. She heard footsteps coming towards her and mentally groaned when she realized she forgot that there were still two cups sitting on the table in front of her. There was no time to fix it, she'd just have to find an excuse. The footsteps got closer and closer and she sighed in relief when she saw it was only Laura. She got up to hug the woman, telling her she loved her. Laura furrowed her eyebrows at the sudden affection coming from Sophia.

"I thought you were my mom" Sophia laughed. Laura smiled back at Sophia. "Are you not happy to see me?" She joked.

"No no, I love seeing you. Jonah came over and we fell asleep watching a movie and I got scared that Mom was home whenever you were unlocking the door" She explained.

"Jonah's here? Where? When did you make up?" Laura asked excitedly. She knew all about that what happened, Laura and Lana were Sophia's best friends. Well, they were here only friends really. She didn't care that Laura was her mother's assistant and a little older than her and Lana. Laura knew all the gossip, she made them breakfast on Saturdays when her mom was at yoga and they gossiped. Laura loved hearing all about what was happening in Sophia's life.
