"Y/N!" I yelled as loud as I could.
I looked throughout throughout the entire house as I continued calling out to her trying to find her, but it was no use. She wasn't there.
Phil's POV:
Lori sat in the driver's seat beside me, fast asleep. We'd been taking turns sleeping as we waited for Dan to get back. The sun would rise in an hour or two, and we'd both been getting worried if something had happened to Dan. One of us would have to go look for him if he didn't come back soon.
I looked ahead, and I almost jumped in my seat when I saw two headlights peering through the trees. I immediately shook Lori awake.
"Lori, get up!"
She opened her eyes and sat up quickly. I pointed at the car which was now very close.
"Right there!"
It passed by us as she started up the car and followed quickly behind it just out of the driver's sight. I could see bloody handprints on the trunk of the car, which made me worry.
Lori handed me her phone and said,"Once we have service, call my dad."
"Okay." I turned it on and checked. No bars yet.
Thunder rumbled nearby. For all I knew my best friend's dead body was inside of that car. It was hard not to think about it, and my thoughts kept getting worse and worse. I started breathing heavier and my hands started to shake. Lori squeezed my hand while still keeping her focus on the car ahead of us.
"It'll be okay, Phil,"she said to me softly.
"How do you know?"
"I know this guy has been difficult for us to catch, but if he's dumb enough to leave bloody handprints on the car, I really doubt he can get away with this one."
"You're probably right."
We smiled at eachother awkwardly for a moment and then looked straight back at the road. Light rain began to tap on the roof of the gradually beginning to pour down heavily. After a few minutes I checked her phone again.
"You have service!"
"Okay good, now go ahead and call my dad."
"..What's your phone's password?"
"Cheez whiz."
I gave her a weird look. "What?"
"The password. It's cheez whiz."
"Okay..why?"
She didn't answer. I decided it best not to ask again. I find cheese pretty gross as is, but cheez whiz is even grosser. On top of that, it's a pretty odd thing to have for a password. (A/N: wink wonk to those of you who get the references) She had many text messages from her dad asking where she was. I unlocked her phone, and I found his number in her contacts. I hit the call button and waited while listening to the dial tones.
I watched Y/N's father driving the car in front of us as I waited for Lori's dad to pick up. I could see pretty clearly at the time, and I remember seeing his hand raise his phone up to his ear just as Lori's dad answered. I immediately muted our microphone.
