*Flashback:*
"Lance... He's gone... He jumped." Shiro said, tears leaving his eyes, finding their way to the ground.
"No! No, he isn't! Keith can't be dead! No!" Lance cried, confusion and fear in his eyes.
*End of flashback*
There Lance sat, at the cliff where his Keef jumped. The day his dreams were crushed. The day he had planned to ask if Keith wanted to be his boyfriend. He was scared, but in a good way. That night, he was ready. He even dressed up for it! But then Shiro came, to tell him Keith was gone forever. He had never been the same again. A tear slid over his cheek. Then he saw Keith. Sitting next to him.
"Hi." Keith said. Lance knew this wasn't true, his mind was playing tricks on him, but he didn't want to believe it.
"Hey." He answered.
"Wanna play a game?" Keith asked. Lance nodded.
"Try and climb in that tree as high as you can." Keith pointed at a tree. Branches hung over the edge of the cliff. Still he accepted the challenge.
"I'll take the lead." Keith said, and he started climbing the tree. Lance followed silently. Keith was fast, faster than Lance. Lance was almost at the top, and he took a break. He looked down, and saw that he sat on one of the branches that hung over the edge. For a moment he felt scared, but then Keith started to talk.
"Come on, you can go higher!" Keith said. And so Lance tried. His arms tried to find a way up. His hand enclosed around a high branch. Keith was sitting on it. The branch was very thin, and Lance knew, somewhere, that it would not hold him. Still, he continued, trying to get to his Keith. He put is weight on the branch, and it snapped. He fell, away from his Keith. He saw his face slowly fade away, away from him.
"Bye..." He whispered, before he hit the ground, and all the life was sucked away from him.
