[19] - Chapter Nineteen

Then, I heard a noise in my bedroom. I took the knife and I saw my insecurity ghost ripping up pictures of Stefanie and I. That was the beginning of how she got here. Now, she’s been taunting me a lot. Hurting the people I care about and showing me how she hurt them through visions. I thought that I could make her go away since I found confidence in this boy, but that wasn’t the case.

It’s like I’m nowhere close to finding out, I also had a panic attack one day. When I found she killed one of my friend’s sister.  I was heartbroken and now it’s getting worse. Taunting and visions during the day are all what I get from her now. I feel like I’m on my own and I’m so scared to tell my friend about this because it sounds insane. And, my ghost also made a weird bracelet with my name on it that comes and goes on my wrist. My chemistry teacher found it and gave it to me.”

When I was done talking, I took a deep breath, reached for my tea, and took a large sip. Once I put it back down, I took a deep breath and finally looked at Mary Anne. She didn’t all surprised on what I had said and her expression told me she understood everything. I felt relieved that I told someone and they understood.

“Oh Miss Canton, it must seem difficult now,” She told me as she reached her cup of tea and placed it in her lap, “But you’re real close to finding out.”

“The reason why no one else really survived these ghosts because they are brutal and evil, sometimes people can’t take it and they gave up. But you McKenzie are one of the stronger girls I’ve encountered.

To find out why your ghost came here, you need to find beauty in yourself. In order for you do that, things will began to happen to you. Your ghost most likely created another ghost to trick you, all of the time people will found them out real quick. It’s been real hard on you too because you’re real close to finding this ghost your insecurity ghost has created.

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you how to get rid of her exactly, but I can give you some tips. Things are going to getting worse so keep your head held high and never give in. Also, don’t trust everyone, heck they can part of this plan one way or another. If you cannot figure out the puzzle, you don’t have all the pieces yet. McKenzie, I know it may seem frustrating that you haven’t found out yet but it’s a process.

In fact, it may come sooner than you think. Things will only get worse baby and you may get your heart ripped out, but just know this. Whenever that happens, you’re one step closer to the truth. And once you find out, believe in it, and use the key to unlock the puzzle.”

I smiled, what she was saying was so helpful and I made sure to memorize all of her tips. I just had one more thing to ask. “Thank you so Mary Anne, what you said seems very helpful. Just one question though, will the ghost that my insecurity ghost created appear as human beings?”

“Yes they will darling,” She answered nodding. “They may not be even that obvious either. However, it’ll get more obvious when things get worse.”

I took one large sip of my tea and looked at the time; school was going to start soon. Standing up, I smiled at Mary Anne with a nice smile. “Thank you so much, you’ve been really helpful and now I know that I am getting closer.”

“You’re welcome dear, feel free to come back anytime for anything. I’ll be more than happy to help you,” She stood up herself and took a card out of her pocket. “Here’s my number if you want to talk again.”

I take the card and placed in my butt pocket. “Thank you, I’ll be sure to do so.” Mary Anne tossed a quick hug and Gregory came in and I said goodbye to him as well. Once I opened her door and closed it behind me, I couldn’t help but to smile. I was on the right track.
