"Oh fuck."

I painfully whispered as I glanced down at my bleeding tail. My petite palms pressed a small amount of pressure around the scales that were painted a dark, crimson red.

The clear water that once surrounded me was colored with the blood that was seeping out from my lower regions.

My tail was once a beautiful mixture of scales that started of with gorgeous navy blue and gold to an alluring turquoise then mesmerizing fins dipped with gold at the end.

But now there was a humongous gash on the left side of my once graceful tail, bleeding furiously.

You might be wondering 'why the fuck is she blabbering about a so-called tail and why is she breaking the forth wall?'.

Well for starters, I am classified as an extinct mythical creature. A creature whose sole purpose is to lead sea's men to their undefined death by drowning.

A creature who uses their lovely voice to attract humans before killing the off one by one. A dangerous creature, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.

If I sound like I'm reading this start from an old book written by some weirdo, it's because I am.

Humans can be so amusing at times.

Firstly, I have never drowned or tried to drown anyone or any animal; if you don't count that one annoying seagull, but he's okay. He's alive. I hope.

"Ah!" A piercing scream erupted from my lungs. The deep cut began to burn violently as the salt water entered the bleeding wound.

'I need to find land and now!' I thought in a panic. I stick my head above the ocean's surface and scan the area. My eyes widen as my baby blue orbs landed on a petite island, about three hundred meters from where I originally was.

I gathered all the remaining energy I had and bolted towards the shore.

The ocean began to shorten as I can now see the sandy bottom. I reached down and placed my pale hands upon it. I pulled my heavy body to the shore as I began to pull my body away from the cool engulf that was given by the ocean.

The warm, disarrayed sand stuck on my wet skin. I sat on the shore with my fin barley touching in the water. I still needed a bit of the ocean's water on my tail or else I go completely dry and dehydrated with can result to death.

I clearly studied my wound. I place my hands over the hurtful injury as I opened my dry mouth to sing.

"You're dripping like a saturated sunrise, you're spilling like an overflowing sink. You're ripped at every edge but you're a masterpiece and now you're tearing through the pages and the ink." The wound glowed a beautiful gold mixed with a pure white. The wound was enclosed but the scales around the wound was scattered in vertical lines not at all appearing as the original form of my tail.

Merfolk do have an enchanting voice but we do not use it for the harm of others but to heal; to heal the wounds of our people and the one we care for. We can use our voices in mythical ways, we have the power to do whatever we please as long as we have the voice to sing.

Although my wound is now closed, I still can not swim. I will be risking the chances of the wound opening once again and attracting a predator. It won't completely heal in at least 168 hours or in seven days.

Ha, seven days.

"I'm in deep shit." I murmured as my drench curly brown hair stuck to my forehead. I'm not only classified as a mythical creature but I am the upcoming heir to the throne in my kingdom.

Yeah, I know. A mermaid princess. Cliché.

In all honesty, being royalty completely sucks. I do appreciate that I am royalty and how I am greatly lucky but being a princess can be a pain in the fin at times.

I am not allowed to leave the safety of the Atlantis Kingdom. But I truly want to explore the oceans I live in. I want to learn more about the creatures that share the underwater world. I am fascinated with the weirdest of contraptions I find located on the ocean's floor.

I stare down at my chest as my eyes landed upon the necklace given to me by my father. It was a small necklace with a single charm in the middle. The charm was that of a mermaid's fin that was colored of midnight black, lavender and dark blue.

These necklaces are passed through the generations of royalty, they are a way of communication to those we truly trust.

My dad's gonna kill me... I gripped on to the charm as I send a message towards the second heir. My brother, Noah. The charm glowed a pure white.

"Hey No..." I called him by his nickname, nervousness can be heard from within my voice.

"Jayden! Where the heck are you?! Mom's worried and she is ready to swim to Jess' house and rip out the fallopian tube of your friend." My brother replies in a monotone.

"Um... That's kinda the problem. I don't know where in the fish Jesus I am. I was swimming of the West Coast-!" I was interrupted by a gasp from my younger brother.

"The West Coast is the most dangerous place in the entire ocean! You can get killed over there! It's the land and home to the-" I cut him off this time.

"Home and land to the pirates. Blah, Blah... Blah. I know! Okay. I kind figure out the hard way. Haha...ha."

"What the hell did you do?" I can hear venom littered in his tone.

"They kinda thought I was a shark or a tuna and shot a spear at me." I said causally. "And I kinda have a huge cut on the left side of my tail and won't be able to swim back in like a week..." I continued

"Dad's gonna kill you." Noah replied.

"I know, I know. But can you please make up a lie; like there's a mega sleepover party at Jess' house and I was invited?" I cringed at the horrible lie I made.

"Sure, Whatever but..."

"But what?" I said a bit terrified of what I need to do.

"I'm inviting my friend's over and their sleeping in your room!" He exclaimed. I rolled my eyes.

"Oh for fuck's sake, sure do whatever you want." I sighed at my own comment. "Can you track my charm and at least tell me where I am?" I questioned.

"Ok... Um; Give me a sec... Uh oh." He murmured quietly.

"Uh oh?! What do you mean uh oh?!" I screamed at the charm.

"You're stranded on the island of 'Camp Ship Wreck'." He said sadly.

"What's so bad about that?"

"It's an all Boy's Pirate Camp."

"Oh fuck."
