Chapter 11

Instead of going home I went after him. I didn't know where I was going but hopefully I could find him. I ran forever! I briefly stopped every once in a while to catch my breath and so I wouldn't trigger my asthma.

"Dillon!" I yelled. No answer. "Dillon!"

Suddenly I heard leaves crunch and the bushes move.

"Dillon?" I said turning to the bushes.

A tall man jumped out at me and grabbed a hold of me tightly.

"Finally I found you!" He said.

"Joe! What are you doing here?!' I asked.

"I wanted to finish what I started." He replied.

" What do you mean?"

"You ruined my relationship with my girlfriend in high school. Now I'm gonna ruin your life!"

He came onto me. I screamed!

"Dillon! Help! Someone! RAPE!!!!!"

I began to cry. "Please! Someone?!"

Joe began to kiss me and rub my entire body.

"Help!" I continued to yell.

"Shut up!" He yelled in my ear.

He released me except my wrist and slapped me with his free hand. I fell to the ground.

"Dillon." I whispered.

Joe picked me up by my shirt and held me to his face.

"Who is this Dillon?" He asked.

"It's me."

Joe turned to Dillon.

Joe laughed. "Ha ha so you're what her agent or her mechanic?"

Dillon smiled and walked over to us. "No I'm her protector," He said. "and you're a dead man!"

Dillon grabbed Joe's shirt and punched him in the face. They wrestled for a while and Dillon gave Joe one good hit right in the middle to the face and broke his nose.

"Hey are you okay?" Dillon asked.

I nodded my head.

"Dillon....."

"Yeah?"

I wrapped my arms around his neck and whispered in his ear.

"Thank you, and yes."

"Yes what?" He asked.

"I will marry you."

His face lighted up with excitement. He twirled me and kissed me. For the first time I felt comfortable.

"Come on let's go home." He said.

He scooped me up in his arms and walked me to the car.

When we pulled in the drive way I discovered the light was on.

"Dillon I swear I cut the light off before I left."

"Something's up."

We walked in and Mr. Small was standing there as if he was waiting on us.

"Mr. Small, what are you doing here?" He asked confused.

"My wife and I had a dispute. I was wondering if I could stay over tonight, it it's no trouble."

"You're married?!" I blurted out.

Dillon hit my side with his elbow.

"Sorry." I said.
