"I really love the feel of this place. How did you find it?" Ling Li asks me as we walk through the front door.
"Well the credit goes to Sun Wong; she is always looking for new locations so I always trust her judgment.
"Well, it's fantastic! Where is the area you wanted me to check for setting up?"She asks me.
"Right around here," I say as I open the door. "So what do you think?"
"Wow it has lots of room and mirror and make-up set up can go just here and the clothing rack can stand just over there, with a changing curtain...yeah, this space is perfect!" Ling Li exclaims as she walks through space.
I clap my hands together, "Oh that is perfect! Great to hear that it's to your satisfaction"
She giggles walking over to me, "let me guess you were stressing that I would find the place too small, right?"
"Is it that obvious?" I ask with a frown.
"Yes, but also you're not the first person who freaks out about such, every client I have worked for always freaks out about the space; but the thing is even if it is small as the stylist I still have to find a way to make it work and believe me I do." she confidently.
"Well, I like your approach I just really want this to go off with no problems," I say sighing slightly.
"And it will, have faith in your work and effort and trust the process, God would not give you this opportunity if He didn't think you were ready to handle it," Ling Li smiles patting my shoulder.
"Mhm, that is true. I just have to do what I do best and the rest will fall into place."
"That's it, girl, you've totally got this!" she says as we walk back to the main area of the café.
Let's out a slight chuckle, "So you know what time you have to be here Friday correct."
"Yes, 16:00hrs because Mr. Ji-Yong will be here at 17:00," Ling Li says smiling. "Relax, everything will be fine, you got this like I said."
We hug and I get into my car and wave bye and make my way to church. Finds traffic again on my way to church as I play some music putting it on shuffle as 'Melody of You' by Sixpence None the Richer a contemporary Christian band. Sings along as the traffic moves:
"This is my call I belong to you,
This is my call to sing the melodies of you
This is my call I can do nothing else
I can do nothing else
You're the scent of a unfound bloom
A simple tune
I only write variations too
A drink that will knock me down on the floor
A key that will unlock the door
Where I hear a voice sing familiar themes
Then beckons me to weave notes in between
A bow and a string, a tap and glass
You pour me till the day has passed"
I continue to sing as the traffic starts to clear and I glace at the clock as it was 17:25. Driving at a comfortable speed I had arrived. Pulling up the church parking lot I reduce the volume and park my car and cuts the engine, grabbing my bag, I lock the car and walk into the church hall.
Putting my things on a chair I greet some friends then I look at the doorway I see my dearest and close friend Liz walk through the door. Hugging each other she puts her things on the seat next to mine we sit down and start to catch up, letting time pass by when Pastor Mark walked onto the platform and greeting the congregation.
