Chapter 14: Caught in a Lie.

Two years ago Alex and Taylor were having a sleepover at Alex's house. Even though her mom would kill her if she found out, Taylor rented an R-rated movie.
The problem was she left it sitting on her bed when she was packing.
Taylor decided her and Alex were going to sneak into her house and get it without her mom finding out.

"Are you sure about this Taylor?" Alex asked.

"Yes I'm sure.", "What are you scared?" Taylor mocked.

"Maybe.", "How are you not?", "We could get caught." Alex said.

"We won't." Taylor replied.

"How do you know?" Alex asked.

"We won't." Taylor repeated finally.

The girls were on Taylor's front porch when Alex asked,

"Where is your key?"

"I don't have one." Taylor said.

"Then how are we supposed to get in?" Alex asked.

"I've got it." Taylor said grabbing a bobby pin out of her hair.

"What are you doing?" Alex asked nervously.

"Unlocking the door.", "Duh." Taylor said to Alex as if she were stupid.

"Have you done this before?" Alex squeaked.

"Don't worry about it." Taylor replied.
The door clicked.

"Ah-ha!" Taylor cried.

She turned to Alex and gestured for her to be quiet.
When you walked in to Taylor's house the living area was to the left, and the dinning area was to the right.
Right in front of the door was a large wooden staircase leading to all the bedrooms.
Taylor started up the stairs.
Alex followed, trying not to make a sound.

Taylor had made it all the way up when Alex stepped on the very top step and it creaked.
She froze and looked at Taylor's parents door straight in front of her all the way down the hallway.
After about twenty seconds with no sign of being heard, Alex decided it was safe to continue walking.

Once safely secured in Taylor's room, Alex shut the door quietly.

"What took you so long?" Taylor asked with annoyance.
When Alex didn't reply Taylor said,

"It doesn't matter.", "Just help me find the movie." Taylor demanded.

The girls looked around the room for what seemed like an hour, but no movie was found.

"Are you sure you looked everywhere at my house?" Alex asked.
Taylor started laughing.

"Shhh!", "Before you wake your parents up!" Alex cried.
"What's so funny?" She asked.

"The movie is in my pillowcase!",

"I put it there because, my mom always checks through my bag.", "I completely forgot." Taylor said still rolling with laughter.

"Are you serious Taylor?" Alex asked seriously.
What was she thinking?
They could have gotten caught.
Taylor stopped laughing.

"What?", "It's not a big deal." Taylor said.

"Whatever." Alex replied as she was walking out of the room.

As she stepped out of Taylor's room she saw a door shutting behind a man.

It wasn't Taylor's father.
