After Avni agreed to go to a coffee shop with him he said "we'll meet at the Bagel shop by 5:00pm".

"OK" Avni said.

Avni went back to her office after the small conversation in Neil's office. She ate the sandwich Neela made for her, then she started working on the files Neil gave her, after she finished working on it, she inputs it into her laptop for backup and submitted the files to Neil.

During breaks she met some staffs and talked to them while having lunch, she went back to her office then Neil gave her a few more files and she finished that too.

It was 4:15pm when she got a message from one of the staffs that Prakash asked her to leave early today, so she called him from her office and confirmed, after that she left.

"Maa I'm hungry" Avni said as she collapsed on the chair,

"you didn't tell me about your day at work and you just came in here talking about food" Neela said

"sorry, but there's nothing much to talk about, I was working through out " Avni said,

"But did you make any friends" Neela said,

"I didn't" she looked at her "it's the first day, I only met some people" Avni said,

"tell me about them" Neela said

" There's Prakash Sir, the owner. I met some staffs I forgot to ask of their names, I met Neil, I-"

Before Avni could complete it

"And who's Neil" Neela said

"my boss" Avni said

" why didn't you call him Sir? " Neela said

" he said he doesn't like it when people call him Sir " Avni said

"is he good looking?" Neela said said teasing Avni

Avni imagined Neil's face for a second and smiled a little

"Oh so you're smiling now" Neela said

"stop it maa" Avni said while pouting

"fine, come and take your food I already made it before you came, take it before it turns cold"

Neela said while standing up. Avni was about to stand up when she saw the time and it was 4:40pm and she's supposed to meet Neil by 5:00pm.

"Maa don't worry I'm not eating again, I have to go somewhere" Avni said

"at least take something" said Neela

"I don't have time" said Avni

she opened her cupboard and picked out a top and jeans. She grabbed her phone and purse and left for the coffee shop.

5:10pm at the coffee shop

Neil- I hope she didn't forget, where is she?.

Avni comes

Avni- sorry I'm late

Neil - no problem, but are you always late cause you also came to work late.

Avni - No, I'm not always late I slept late last night so I woke up late.

Neil - what about now?

Avni - ok will you stop questioning me.

Neil - fine sorry.

The waiter comes

Waiter- your order

Neil and Avni - Double espresso!

They look at each other and smile. The waiter goes to get their order.

Avni - guess we both like espresso. She said smiling

Neil- Yeah, maybe we have more things in common.

The waiter comes with their order.
As they take their espresso Avni's hands touched his and she retracts it.

She cleared her throat and they take their coffee.

As they take it they start talking

Neil- so do you live alone

Avni- no I live with my mom

After taking the coffee, Avni breaks the silence

Avni- I've to go to the washroom

Neil- OK
After Avni goes Neil received a call from work and went to the car to write the message down. Avni comes back from the washroom.
Avni- Where is Neil. (To herself)
Avni- I hope he didn't run away. Am I that bad (she thought to herself)
She starts looking around to find Neil. Then she bumps into someone and slips, she closed her eyes preparing to fall, then she felt a hand on her waist (her top hiked up) then she opened her eyes, it was Neil. They have an eyelock then they realized people were looking at them. They stood straight, adjusted their clothes then they went back to their table. They talked about each other and likes and dislikes and they had things in common too. It was now 7:30pm and Avni wanted to get home early and sleep early so she won't have to wake up late the next day.

Avni- Neil it's getting late, I have to get home early so I won't be late for work tomorrow.

Neil- OK come I'll drop you.

Avni- no, it's okay

Neil- Avni aren't we friends, I won't kidnap you I'm just gonna drop you home.

Avni- OK.

They leave, it starts raining. Avni gives him her address.

Avni- I'm giving you my address that doesn't mean you can come to my house anytime you want.

Neil- we'll see about that. Neil thought

Avni- did you hear me!

Neil- yes yes!....I didn't know you can shout like this. You were quiet since morning.

Avni- well that's because I didn't know you well, So now that you're my friend brace yourself. She smirked. Neil shakes his head and smiles.

He applies the brake in front of Avni's house.

They both get down. Neil puts his jacket over his and Avni's head to protect them from the rain.

They reach the door and Avni tries to open it, it was locked. Avni knocks on the door. Neela opens the door.

Neela- Avni I've been calling y...... Neela doesn't complete her sentence when she sees someone with Avni. She looks at Neil then Avni. Avni knew she was supposed to explain.

Avni- Maa this is Neil...my friend.

Neil- Good evening Aunty.

Neela- how are you, and you're looking nice did you two go on a date?. Neela said smiling.

Neil- yes we did, you're also looking good.

Neela- well thank you, but Avni you never told me you were going on a date.

Avni- maa he's just joking. Avni said as she hit Neil slightly with her elbow.

Neela- you two come in cause we're not going to talk at the doorstep.

Neil- no aunty thank you, i have to go home and meet my mum and bebe (his grandma). They are waiting for me.

Neela- OK but next time you come here you will have to stay.

Neil- Sure, bye Aunty.

Neela- bye Neil.

Neil- bye Avni.

Avni- bye.

Avni looked at Neil until he had gone.

Neela- will you keep staring at him or will you come inside. Avni starts blushing.
