'Why did Kerkovich want to meet you?' Remus asked.

'Um, I don't really know.'
'James.' Remus said.

'Yes?' James asked, faking a smile.

'What did he want?' Remus asked. 'A straight answer would be nice.'

James gulped. 'Swear that you won't say this to a soul.' James said, looking here and there to check if they were alone.
'I swear.' Remus said.

Then he grabbed Remus's collar and they got in the nearest classroom.
'You know how Ian and lily broke up, right?' James asked.

'Yeah.. where is this going?' Remus asked.
'He didn't cheat on her.' James said.

'That doesn't make sense. Did he want to break it off so he made an excuse?' Remus asked.

'No. He wanted to date her.' James sighed.
'What?' Remus asked.

'I bribed him to break up with her.' James said.

Remus stared at him for two seconds.
'You did what? Are you crazy?'

James shrugged but didn't reply.

'So, why was he here now?'
'He's asking more. Or he's gonna tell Evans.'

'More money? How much?' Remus asked.
'Five thousand galleons.' James said.

'What? How much did you give first time?' Remus asked.
'One thousand.'

'You are not thinking of giving him that much, are you?' Remus asked.
'The thought has crossed my mind.' James said.

James kicked the wall in frustration. 'I don't know what I was thinking.'

'Lily won't like this.' Remus said.
'She doesn't have to know.' James said.

'You are not giving him 5k galleons.' Remus said.
'I hope so.' James said.
