Taehyung sits on the floor with his phone in his lap and watches you from across the room. He has his hoodie up on his head, gray loose sweatpants matching his in-home style. You don't give him attention. You look down into your book, frowning a little as you struggle understanding what the author is trying to say. After a while, your face changes into a confused expression and you flip a few pages back as you probably lost track of the story.
You've been doing this a lot these days. You seem unfocused, you often get lost in your own thoughts, you close yourself up in your own world and he has to ask you to come back for you to take notice of his presence.
He would be lying if he said it doesn't bother him. He's been worried for a while now but he always tried to brush it off with "It's nothing, they'll get over it." But slowly he starts to understand that this chance of your attitude is long-term.
"Jagi?" he speaks up in the heavy silence.
You raise your head a few seconds after. "Oh, yeah, what is it?"
"Are you alright?"
"What do you mean?" you close the book and look at him.
"You just don't seem yourself," he shifts in his seat. "Do you want to talk about it?"
"About what?" you ask as if you didn't listen.
"Did you hear what I just said?"
"I was... thinking a little. But I did. There is nothing to talk about."
"I am serious," he says in his low, husky voice. "If there's anything troubling you, tell me."
"I am okay," you say a beat too fast. "Nothing to worry about."
He would pressure you a bit more if he didn't feel bad for it. Instead he nods in agreement and returns back to his previous activity. After a while, worry makes him lose the game he's playing and he closes the app down.
He opens KakaoTalk and finds his chat with Jimin. I need help, he types.
After a while, his friend's reply appears on the screen. What's going on? Are you hurt?
No, I'm not. But Y/N probably is, Taehyung replied.
It takes a while before Jimin answers. How come?
No idea. Can you help me?
Of course. We'll talk about it on the practice, okay?
Okay. See you in two hours. Taehyung turns off the screen and gets up. "I'm going to the practice in a while."
