Chapter 21

"Thanks" I said my teeth chattering

"Anything for you" he said bringing me closer

I had no idea why Aiden is blaming me, I mean sure I may have cause havock but it's not like I chose too and Candace. She and everyone else is done mocking me and I proved that earlier. Of course Jay was disappointed, I nearly beat the daylights out of a pack member. A luna's main priority is to protect and all I did was destroy. Crying to myself I hugged Riley my face buried in his shirt

"It's ok Abby, we'll figure this out"

"Not this time" I sniffed wiping my tears

"Want me to stay with you tonight?" he asked

I nodded not saying a single word, if Jay doesn't want to help me who am I to deny the comfort of another. Riley walked effortlessly to the pack house. I stiffened at the view, it seemed..... lonely?

He walked up the path and pushed the door open with his foot, closing it softly behind him I heard the gasps of pack members but I was too tired to defend what little pride I had left, ignoring the faces Riley stood at the entrance to my room pushing the foot of the door open

Laying me softly on the bed he ran to the bathroom and ran the shower, emerging seconds later he sat beside me a sad smile on his pale face

"You'll feel better"

"Thanks, for everything Riley" I gave a forced smile and made my way to the bathroom

Stripping off his shirt I stepped into the shower letting the water run all the dirt and blood that stained me. I washed my hair feeling bits of grass and dirt between my fingers. I sighed watching everything run down the drain. What happened to me. Once I was dirt free and had a vanilla scent basking around the room I wrapped a towel around my body

Opening the door my body froze on instinct, there sitting on the edge of my bed stood Jay. He looked almost pained to see me his eyes were filled with disappointment

"You were out of hand today" he said getting off the bed

What? he's going to believe what ever sob story Candace gave him and not hear why I did what I did. This is not the man I know he would have fought for me not against me

"Do you even realize why I did that?" I practically screamed

"Yes but you went too far Abby, you nearly killed a pack member over a snide remark" he growled using his alpha tone

"I was dying slowly everyday with the pain each and every single one of them caused me. Every day I'd get death threats from them and every day it killed me slowly" I yelled marching up to him with teary eyes

"Ignore them" he yelled

I stumbled back outraged and shocked. Out of all people he was telling me to just ignore the threats and bruises they caused me. I was tortured and humiliated ever since day one and it still hasn't died down. Its worse

"You have no right to tell me what to do" I said through gritted teeth my body shaking

"I am your alpha Abby" he growled stepping closer to me, he gripped my arms and shook me

"Get off me" I growled shoving him away

I stood there shocked when he stumbled back hitting the wall, I heard a low growl and instantly went into a defensive position

"You're way out of line" he shouted

"Well you're treating me like I'm the bad guy!" I retorted

"Because I have a pack to protect!" he growled
