"Eomma, can we go to the fair tonight?"
"No, it's expensive and a complete waste of time!"
"But eomma... All my friends are going to the fair!"
"Min Yoongi!"
"Eomma! Please?"
"How many times do I have to tell you? No means no!"
"But-"
"Stop asking and go to your room!"
I remember the harshness of her words.
Those words that pierced my heart, shattering it into pieces.
That was when I had just completely shattered.
I became broken.
My mother was always harsh on me.
She never let me do the things other kids my age got to do.
I never got to spend time with my friends.
Well... I never really had friends in the first place.
I wasn't allowed to.
My mother always forced me to focus on studying.
She tells me I'm destined for great things.
And so I studied.
I made top grades in my class.
I decided to take piano lessons.
I became a well-rounded person.
And most importantly...
I learned to always smile.
Even if I was completely miserable on the inside.
"I just wanted to go to the fair..."
"Then why don't you?"
"What?"
"No one's really stopping you."
"But my eomma..."
"You know you don't have to listen to her."
"But she my eomma... I have to."
"No you don't."
"But-"
"You're just choosing to obey her."
I remember falling silent after talking to the voice.
"Alright then! I'm going to go!"
