AN: There is a private version of this chapter that is a little more graphic than this. Decided to add this for those having trouble reading the private chapter. Sorry, Wattpad can be goofy.

I'm woken up by the bed shifting beside me and large arms wrapping around me from behind. I freeze.

"Get off of me!" I yell in panic. I forgot to get dressed after eating and was currently as naked as the day I was born. "I'm not wearing anything, stop it!"

"Perfect, just the way I want you," Colton growls behind me. Seriously, this guy is a real creep. His grip tightens around me and I feel his hard chest behind my back as I feel him press his body against me.

"No, leave me alone." I struggle against his grip. "I need to get dressed!" He ignores me, his right hand slowly rubbing up against my side.

He brings his mouth to my ear and says lowly, "Never. It doesn't work like that, mate." He rolls me on to my stomach, with his body firmly pressed against me. "Now relax darling, this might hurt a little." He chuckles.

Panic erupts through my body and I try to push off the bed with all my might. I scratch and kick, doing everything I can to get away from this man. "No!" I yell, "I don't want this!" I continue to struggle against him when I feel a hand tighten on the back of my neck.

"This is going to happen whether you want it to or not," he sneers. "And there isn't a damn thing you can do about it." And with that, I feel him enter me.

Tears sting my eyes. My heart is pounding in my chest. My breaths are short because of his neverending grip on the back of my neck. "Please, Colton. Don't do this, I am your mate."

"It's because you are my mate that I am doing this."

With one more thrust, I felt him twitch inside me as his seed filled me. Once he was done he threw me down on to the bed and walked off to the bathroom, not saying a word. I curled up into a ball. My eyes were dry because I cried all my tears, but my heart still ached. My wolf was howling inside me - a sad, mournful cry for help. I was shaking.

We need to leave. I said to my wolf.

I know. Ailith said softly. I could hear the pain as she spoke. Maybe we can escape now?

How? I am in no shape to move right now. Plus he is right there, he will hear us. That's when I hear the shower go on. Nevermind, we are leaving.

I slowly, and painfully, get up from the bed. I look around for some kind of clothing to put on, but there was nothing. So I grab my towel from earlier and wrap it tightly around me.

Quickly. My wolf says.

I try the door and to my luck, it wasn't locked.

Thank Goddess.

I peek my head out and look down the hall. There is no one in the hallway, but I can hear muffled noises coming from behind the various closed doors. I take it as my opportunity and quickly tiptoe in the direction of the stairs, trying to keep my sounds to a minimum. Once I come down the stairs, I walk as close to the railing as possible to avoid any creaking. I am grateful to see no one in the living room area when I make it downstairs. I quickly run to the large, glass door I see on the opposite wall. Sliding it open carefully, I take one more look inside before I bolt out the door into the dark forest. Not looking back, I continue to run. I'm not sure where I am going, but at this point, I don't care.

Shift, I feel strong enough. It will be quicker. Ailith states. But be prepared, our injuries and the silver will make it difficult.

Stopping, I let the towel drop and focus on bringing my wolf forward. She wasn't kidding when she said it would be difficult. It was similar to the day I first shifted. Eventually, all my bones are snapped into place. I let Ailith take the reigns, I need some time to myself.

Ailith POV

I feel Skylar push me forward and lock herself in a cage. I put my nose to the air, trying to get an idea of where I should run. My instincts tell me to head towards the moon, and that is what I do. Brushing against the various trees in an attempt to fool and possible trackers, I run forward and fast. I stop when I come across a large stream. I jump in. It's cold, but it is the best way to fool them into thinking they lost me, it is my only hope. I can't let our mate get us again.

Mate.

Never in my years would I think that our soulmate would do this to us. I know his wolf and he is kind and gentle. His human...well he is not. Clearly. I've waited 23 years for our mate only to be running from him a mere 12 hours later. I need to do this though. For Skylar. For me.

I walk in the stream for a few kilometres until I hear an angry howl in the distance.

It's him! Skylar cries.

I take off as fast as I can. I don't stop, even when I feel the pain of the earlier events. I must push myself. We must get away.

I continue on. Dodging trees and jumping over bushes. Past various animals and birds. Through empty meadows. I don't stop. I can't stop. I won't stop.

I can feel the panic coming from Skylar's cage in my mind. I can hear her cries. I can feel her fear. It only drives me further, pushing me past my limits. My legs burning, wanting to stop. We must have been running for hours now, I can see the sun starting to peak through behind. However, I can also hear the angry howls and yips of multiple wolves behind us. They are slowly catching up to us, and I cannot let that happen. So I push on.

Unfortunately, in my haste, I failed to see the sudden drop ahead of me. I feel myself going over the edge of a small cliff. I fall 20 feet to a rocky ground below, my back leg and a couple ribs cracking at impact. I try to lift myself, but I can't. The pain is too much.

I'm sorry. I whimper.

It's okay, maybe they won't find us. Skylar says comfortingly, but I can feel the uncertainty and fear in her voice.

There is a cave a mere 15 feet from where I lay. I couldn't smell any danger, so I tried to crawl into it. It was a painful and slow process, but eventually, I was able to pull myself inside.

Skylar, we have to shift back. So our injuries can heal.

She doesn't say anything, but I feel her step out of her cage and come forward. I step back and let her take over. Our bones shift as we turn back.

Skylar POV

I look down at my leg in its awkward position. There is nothing I can do to fix it, I am definitely no doctor. I know my wolf healing will kick in eventually, but I still need medical attention to make it heal properly.

I hear another howl above me. I sigh as realization hits. I am going to need them, and it is only a matter of time that they will find me.

Don't do it. Ailith warns.

I have to. We can't heal this way, I can't keep moving on with a broken leg. Ailith, I will starve if I don't get help. We need help.

I hear her whimper before she shuts the cage door, closing herself off to me. I frown. There is no way in hell I want to do this, but I have to. It's the only way.

"Look what we have here." I freeze. Well, I guess I didn't need to ask for help.
