I still had a little bit before we were back from commercial so I decided to check my phone. When I turned my phone screen on I noticed I had a couple of text messages and a whole load of twitter notifications. All probably about the interview. I opened my text messages to quickly read to them. The first one was from Chris.
C
You're doing great, just don't hit Alison for her dumb questions! Love youuu!
I chuckled at his message, if there was anyone in the world who could pick up on any small sign of annoyance he would catch it. Chris was currently backstage watching on one of the screens, he had come for moral support and I really did need it. If it weren't for him I would have flaked out on the interview. I texted him back letting him know my patience was wearing thin and that I also love him.
The second text was from my dad.
Derek
Hope it's goin well hun
I smiled at the text he couldn't watch the interview live because he had a couple of job interviews, I was pretty proud of him because he decided himself to go out and look for jobs. I knew how hard it was going to be since he had a record but I prayed someone would give him a chance. He needs to do something, he can't spend all day just sitting around. I texted him back wishing him luck.
The other text messages were from friends wishing me luck and letting me know I was doing good. What caught my attention was a text from a number that wasn't saved in my phone. When I opened it I couldn't help but tear up a bit. It was a text from my brothers best friend.

He would be proud of you and your strength.

After everything had happened I had cut myself from the world and avoided anyone who was connected to my brother. I knew it was wrong but it was how I coped.
"Were going back on in less than two minutes" I jumped at the sound of one of the crew members.
"Okay." I responded nodding at him.
He sauntered off to do other things and I took this time to focus on the audience. They were all chattering, it was the only time they could talk and get up to take bathroom breaks. I used to love interviews, especially when I was being interviewed by someone who was fun. But now I hated being here, I hated the all the cameras being pointed at me and I hated knowing the whole world was watching me.
I was suddenly pulled out of my thoughts when I saw Alison heading towards her chair once again. Once she was settled into her seat she turned to me and whispered
"You're doing really well but you can you try to look at me when you speak and not your hands."
I didn't even realize I was doing that. I quickly mumbled an apology and told her I will try.
They hushed the audience and everyone was back in their places and I could hear someone counting down.
"5! 4! 3!" and then they signaled two and one with their hand and the cameras began rolling and Alison was talking once again.
"Welcome back, today we are interviewing actress Miah Reeves, who will be giving us an in depth look into what led to her brothers murder. We left off with the note's contents still unknown and now we will delve into what really shook Miah on the evening of October 17." She was looking right at the camera. She looked so dramatic it was ridiculous she was just missing the haunting music in the background. She knew what the note read, it was basic and simple I didn't get what the huge build up was for.
"Miah darling, tell us what was written in the note." she was now looking at me and her voice changed from high pitched to a fake sympathetic tone once again.
I remembered to look at her as a I spoke, "It said 'Watch your back, i'm coming for you" in messy handwriting." I could hear some whispers from the audience and Alison mouthed out a 'wow'. She was really one for the dramatics. She extended her arm and laid her hand on top of my mine and squeezed it.
"Was there anyone near you who looked suspicious?"
"I looked around frantically but the streets were busy, people were everywhere, this is Toronto were speaking of."
"Of course, who else knew about the note?"
"I only told Paul about it." Paul had told me to tell my brother at the time but I didn't want anyone to know and looking back I don't know why I did that.
"What did Paul do about it?"
"He scoped the area but there weren't any surveillance cameras in position to catch who had left it there."
"Where was Paul during that time?"
"He had gone back to my apartment building."
"So when Avery came back why didn't you show her the note? Maybe she had seen who had put it."
"I never thought of asking her, I didn't want anyone to be involved."
"So what did you do after you got the note?"
"I pretended nothing happened and I went on with my day."
"Why?"
"I convinced myself it was nothing, I get a lot of creepy messages online and I just told myself it was similar to that and that it would go away." Saying it out loud made me realize how stupid it sounded. I wish I realized how stupid it was then.
"But it didn't go away did it?"
"No it didn't, the next day I was almost..."
//What do you think happened the next day???
Hope you liked this chapter!
