I could barely see the people in front of me.
I was covered from head to toe in my own dried up blood.
I had been laying there for almost 3 days. Three days before... I was laying in my bed... well his bed.
He came in shit face drunk and hit me across the face.
He shoved me into the wall and kicked me until I coughed up blood.
I screamed in pain every time. Praying to God someone would here me.

But they never did.

I was dragged into the dark woods and beaten with a belt. My skin was ripped across my arms and legs.
I was numb.

I opened my eyes and saw wires hooked up to me everywhere.

I was alive. I was breathing. I wasn't dead...yet.

A monitor went off.
A nurse with blonde hair and pink scrubs waked in.
All the colors in the room stood out to me.

I closed my eyes.

"Liza!" David was running towards me across the courtyard. He picked me up and spun me around.
I had just gotten back from Texas because I was visiting my grandmother.
"I missed you so much Liza," he said with a bright smile.
His brown eyes stared deep into mine.
"I missed you too Davi."
He kissed me quickly before anyone could see.
He hugged me once more and smiled. "I'll meet you at the bleachers, as always."
"Okay," i smiled and squeezed his hand. He smiled and walked away to his next class.

They memories seemed to fly by with in a second, but included every little detail.

David pushed me forward on the swing at the park.
"You know this is so childish," he laughed,
I grabbed his hand before he could push me again.
He stood between my legs looking down at me. He leaned down and placed a kiss on my lips.
This is what it felt like...  This is all i ever wanted.
He ran a hand through my hair and followed his hand with his eyes. And he smiled.
"What," i said laughing a little.
"Nothing. You're just.... so damn beautiful."
I looked down and smiled.
"My beautiful girl."

I opened my eyes and felt tears on my face.
He was my everything. And here i was... dying in a hospital bed.

The nurse felt my head and smiled.
"You don't have a fever anymore."

She took off one of the wires followed by the rest.
"You want to try to walk?"
"Didn't i just get here?"

"You've been here for two weeks sweetie. You need to get some exercise."

I was here for two weeks. Tears filled my eyes and I didn't know why.

"There was a boy who came the first day and stated here the whole week. He never left. Until your heart stopped. He hasn't come back since."

David.

"What is today? Like the date?"
"July 22nd? Why," she smiled.

I sat up quickly. "David's birthday is tomorrow!"

She smiled again. "I believe they are letting you out tomorrow, depending on how your heart is doing."

I smiled and turned where my legs were off the bed. She came to my side and put my arm around her neck. She stood with me.
I took a shaky step forwards and laughed.
"Good! Keep going!"
I took a few more steps and after about ten minutes i got used to it.
I was walking on my own.
