Will's POV
"Hey guys!!" I said, waving.
"Hey Will, the fireworks are starting soon, want to sit with us?" answered Annabeth, with Percy and Piper following behind her.
"Yes! I just need to go put my doctor bag away in my cabin and I'll be right out!"
"Okay, see ya there!" Percy yelled as I turned to run.

I ran into the Apollo cabin, set my bag on my bunk, and ran out to the beach  meeting Percy on the way there.
"Hey," I said. "Where are we sitting?"
"Hey, right over there." Percy replied, pointing to a spot near the shore. I saw five silhouettes already sitting there.
"Awesome."
"You wanna race?"
"Only if you want to LOSE!" I shouted and started sprinting.
"Hey no fair!" Percy yelled back, and I heard him start to run after me.

I made it to the group a second before Percy did. He tried to slow down but his effort only made him slip in the sand and fall face first in front of Annabeth.
"Oh Seaweed Brain." She said and we all started to laugh. When he got up, he brushed himself off and tried to look cool, and started spitting out sand that had gotten into his mouth.
"Nice job there, Water Boy." I mocked.
"Shut up, Sunshine." He grumbled back. We both smiled.

I sat down and noticed all who was here. Annabeth, Percy, and Piper of course. Then there was Jason, Hazel, Frank, and --- Nico. Nico. He was here. I hadn't seen Nico earlier from the angle Percy and I were walking from. I looked at him, and I could tell he was happy. My heart started to flutter, it was beating so loud I figured everyone must've heard it. He looked back and I noticed I was staring... and he was too. I swore I seen his face turn a bright shade of red, but he looked away before I could actually know.

"I bet the fireworks are going to be awesome tonight!" Jason exclaimed.
"They better, we all worked our butts off the past months." Percy joked. It was true, the war had taken a toll on both camps, but it also brought us together.

We watched the sun go down and then the fireworks. They were the best fireworks Camp Half-Blood has had. Full of colors and explosions we've never seen before. It was epic. When they were finally over, I spoke up.

"Hey, you guys want to play a game tonight? It'd be nice to just hang out a bit, especially after what crazy things we've done today."
"Yeah!" They all said in unison. We started laughing again.
"Okay, whose cabin?"
We were all surprised to hear Nico speak first.
"Let's do it in mine! Hazel and I are the only ones there, so there's tons of room for any game." He said with a smile.
"Okay," I said, "Let's go!" Once again, I broke out in a run towards the Hades cabin.

It turned into a race between all eight of us. Or I should say seven. When we all reached Nico's cabin he opened the door and mischievously, slyly grinned.
"Oops, guess I win!" He said and laughed, and stared at me directly, his grin grew into a rather adorable smile. I don't know if I imagined it or not, but I noticed a slight tinge of pink on his cheeks. I was sure he'd seen mine when we'd locked eyes. His twinkled.

We walked in and sat in a circle.

"What are we going to play?" Frank asked.
"How about Sardines? We haven't played that in a long time!" Hazel proposed.
"Yes!!!" Percy yelled, and we all laughed again. "Who's going to be it first?"
"I want to!" Piper said and stood up. "Give me sixty seconds!"

We closed our eyes until we heard her leave the room, and all counted as Piper ran off.

Sixty seconds later we all scrambled to find her. The cabins are pretty large, and have a lot of spaces to hide in. Annabeth found Piper first, followed by Jason, Nico, Frank, me, Hazel, and finally Percy.

We played Sardines for probably forty-five minutes.

"It's getting kinda late," Annabeth said and yawned mid-sentence, "I'm gonna go to bed. This was so much fun."
"Yeah, me too. I'm exhausted!" Piper said, sleepily.

We all got up and had a group hug. Nico was on my left side in the hug, and his touch on my shoulder blades burned. But it was a good kind of burn, and I ached for the touch again when we separated.
I need to tell Nico. I need to tell him how much I love him. I've kept it for too long now.

"I love you guys!" Percy yelled, and chuckled. We all laughed again, and it was true. We were a family.

"See you guys at breakfast," Annabeth said and left, hand-in-hand with Percy.
Piper jumped on Jason's back, Jason giving her a piggyback ride to her cabin. They smiled, walking out the door together.
"I'm gonna walk with Frank for a little bit, Nico." Hazel said.
"Okay, but you two behave!" Nico joked.
We laughed and Frank and Hazel left, leaving us alone.
Nico and I then stood in silence.
Now is my chance. But I don't want to be awkward about it so-
"That was fun," Nico said, and I realized he had turned to me and was rather close. I had been so deep in my thoughts I hadn't even noticed. I tried not to blush again.
"Yeah, I'm glad we got to just hang out for a bit." I said, trying not to hesitate or make our situation uncomfortable.

"Will?" Nico said, looking up to me, his eyes showing he's feeling nervous.
"Yeah?" I replied, hoping I could get an opportunity to comfort him with whatever was bothering him now.
"I need to tell you something..." He said, turning a bit more serious.
"Umm.. Okay. What is it?" I asked nervously. Ugh, he's not into me. I was a fool.

He then just stood in his place, and looked away, as if he was contemplating whether to tell me or not.

"Nico. You can tell me anything. Y'know that, right? I'll always be here for you. No matter the circ-"

"C-can I kiss you?" He whispered.

"Wh-what? Yes, I mean-" I wanted to kiss him too, but I didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable.

But I was interrupted by him bringing his lips to my cheek. I was still so shocked I didn't move. I tensed.
Nico felt that I had tensed and backed away.

"I'm sorry... I... I thought.. just maybe..." He trailed off and turned away.

"Nico.. Wait." I fought. So he does like me. I was so happy I was having trouble thinking. He turned around and faced me, I stared into his beautiful, dark brown eyes. I wanted to confess my love to him. I wanted to go on and on about it to him. But I was speechless, so I did the only other thing I had left in mind.

I walked up to him and kissed him, right on the lips. At first he was hesitant, but he quickly kissed me back. Our kiss wasn't forceful. It was passionate, expressing every detail we loved about each other, every word we wanted to say, everything. Nico brought him arms around me, bringing us closer, so I did the same.

We split and then smiled. He had that twinkle in his eyes again.
"I've been wanting to do that since the fireworks started," he spoke.
"Me too," I breathed, grinning like an idiot. Nico's idiot, I thought and smiled even more.

"How about we do something tomorrow? Just the two of us?" Nico asked.
"I'd love that," I said, and brought us together for another kiss.
