The smile of satisfaction was replaced into a pain of realisation.
"Kis haq se mai tumse tumhare dard lene ki baat kar raha hoon sakta? Jabki tumhare har dard ki wajah mai hun. Mera parivar, mere bachhe, mera ateet aaj tak sirf tumhari har dukh ki wajah ban sake hain...marham nahi" he did a self-talk.
"Sach hai ki mai tumse pyar karta hun. Bepanaah pyar. Magar mera pyar tumhe dukh ke siwa aur kuch nahi dega. Mai apni khushi keliye tumhare gham ki wajah nahi banna chahta. Mai chaahkar bhi tumhe nahi paa sakta"
he broke down.

He walked towards her. Even after all the pain she suffered her face glowed in the dark hour of the night,
just as she came into his dark life like a bright morning.

How he wished he could linger his lips on her glowing cheeks.
Alas! His lips could only pray for her happiness but not feel her.

He recalled the events of the day. How he wanted to spend time with her. He wanted to make this day special for her. He wanted to confess his feelings to her. He wanted to promise her of a beautiful future together.

But how did he forget that fate was always cruel to him? God had probably forgotten to write happiness associated with love in his destiny.
The fear of hurting her and losing her were both equally painful. Yet he had to choose either of them.

Wiping his tears, he walked back to the couch.
This time the smile of satisfaction, that had transformed into pain of realisation, made him to take a firm decision.
With that the events of the day took a toll on him and slipped into deep slumber. As a pair of eyes closed, another pair of eyes opened.
What was in store for her? Satisfaction? Realisation? Decision? or something else.
