"N-Nick." She said. I feel myself tense up, Nick...I knew it. I look at Adam. Ashley grips my shirt. "I'm sorry I yelled at you, Ty. I am, but...but I couldn't go against him." Ashley than proceeds to tell us how her day went and last night, I can tell that Adam is mad and so am I. But right now, my main concern is for Ash than it will be beating up a senseless prick.

"You want me to say something to Mitch?" Adam asks her. She hesitates but nods. Oh that's right, Nick is a benja recruit. I look at Adam.

"Adam--"

"Did you walk here from the Benja base?" Adam asks her. She nods again. "Do you want to be taken home?" She nods. Adam looks at me. "Well...are't you her friend and boss, Ty?" Ashley takes her head off my chest and I look down at her.

"Go to the stables, I'll be right there." I told her. She nods and walks away. I look at Adam. "What are you doing?"

"I'll go to the Benja Base. Nick went too far and this time I'll tell him that other than you." Adam said. He turns from me and I grab his arm, stopping him.

"No! I want to go too." I said. Adam looks at me.

"But what about Ashley? She needs you, Ty. Go be the supporting friend she needs you to be. I'll be the irrational one." Adam said. I let go of Adam's arm.

"Don't kill him, that would be a lot of paperwork." I said. Adam sighs.

"I know. I know. I won't kill him, I'll...well..I'll just be creative." Adam said before he climbs up onto his horse and I pull the reins back for him so he can take them.

"Come to her place after you are done, alright?" I ask. He nods.

"I got it. I got it. Why are you so nervous about this?"

"Adam, you do understand who you are right?" I ask. He nods and turns his horse around.

"Yeah, and I also understand who you are. And right now, I believe your crush is crying for you to take her home." Adam said before he took off and my cheeks heat up. Ash isn't my crush.

I borrowed a first aid kit before we left and when we got inside, I put her on the couch. I put the kit down and turn on the lights. She flinches and groans, I turn a few off so it is dim. I sit down beside her.

"Ash, let me see your wrist." I said softly putting my hand out. She doesn't move for a few moments, but she puts her wrist in my hand. I gently push up her sleeve, seeing her wince every now and than. I see nothing, no markings on her arm. I take her own arm and compare. Okay...Her wrist is definitely swollen. I open the kit and grab the gauze.

"Th-Thank you." She said. I look at her and smile a little.

"Your welcome. I'll have you fixed up, than are you hungry? Did you get dinner?" I ask her as I gently wrap her forearm. She shakes her head.

"Can you make me something?" She asks softly. I nod.

"Yeah." I said. She flinches when I touch her wrist. "Sorry."

"It's okay." She said. She puts her head on my shoulder. I stop for a moment and then finish the wrap on her arm. "Why do you have to be so nice, Ty? Why?"

"I'm sorry?" I said confused. She snickers a little and moves closer to me. "Ash, can you..look at me real quick?" She picks up her head, I lick my thumb and I gently wipe her tears off her cheeks and the stained tracks on them as well. She smiles a little. I smile back at her. "I'll always be there for you, no matter what. You know that." She nods and look down at her lap.

"Yeah..Yeah I know. I thought you would be mad at me because I was ignoring you for the past two weeks. That's why I was just gonna walk home." She said.

"Ash." I said. I lift her chin up and give her a little smile. I wipe her tears away, even off her bruised cheek. "When I said I'll always be there for you, no matter what, I meant it. I haven't been mad at you, how can I be mad at you? You are like a little sister to me." She loses her smile and gives me a little one. What was that?  "What was that?" She rests her head on my shoulder.

"Nothing..." She said softly.
