He pressed the lock button on his car keys and turned to face me.

"You will take record of every statement made there, do not leave out a single detail and do not mess things up for me." He instructed in a firm voice.

"Yes sir."

I've been uttering that phrase so much.

He pushed his portfolio into my hands and proceeded in the direction of the entrance to the building.

The portfolio was quite heavy but I followed him mutely.

"Good morning sir, Mr. Edward is expecting you, the other executives are waiting too," a lady my age greeted flirtatiously. Her clothes barely covered her lady parts and they were rather tight, I doubted she could breathe in that prison she called clothes.

"This is my personal assistant, Florence Steel, Florence, Anastasia."

Nice name.

She eyed me maliciously before seizing my hand in a bone crushing handshake.

"Nice to meet you." she said, flashing a perfect set of white teeth at me.

I nodded and she diverted her attention to my boss.

"Come this way sir."

She led us to the conference room where some men clad in suits were seated patiently at a round and wide table probably waiting for our arrival.

All eyes were on us as we walked in through the door.

After we were appropriately seated, with me next to Mr. Ross, a man spoke up.

"We shall now proceed."

Every other person apart from me fumbled in their portfolios for some important-looking documents.

As the meeting went on, I dutifully took notes of important points raised in the course of the meeting.

From the meeting I gathered some information on Mr. Ross' companies all over the world as they discussed strategies to efficiently manage them without hitches, Mr. Ross also discussed about his planned visit to one of them, I could only hope I won't be joining him.

Mr. Ross took occasional side glances at my write up and at those moments I pursed my lips, fearing he would find fault in either my writing style or some other thing but fortunately he didn't.

My eyes wandered to a brown-haired man old enough to be my grandfather, his eyes went from my face to my bust, I cringed as he licked his lips like I was a sumptuous meal waiting to be devoured.

I narrowed my eyes at him when his gaze returned to my face. He gave me a goofy grin and turned to the man sitting next to him.

Such a pervert.

When the meeting ended, I was too glad to escape the tense atmosphere of the conference room.

To my discomfiture, the brute followed us to our car or rather my boss' car.

"Ah, Philip, there you are." He chuckled and took Mr Ross' hand in an handshake. Clearly, Philip did not seem to glad having a conversation with Mr. Whoever-he-is.

"It's so good to see you again Darius." Mr. Ross said in between clenched teeth.

I was glad that at least we agreed on one thing.

"And who is this pretty lady beside you?" Darius asked, nodding at me. I instinctively scooted closer to Mr. Ross in case the perv attempted to grab me.

"This is Florence, my personal assistant."

Before Darius could say anything else, Mr. Ross climbed into the car and I did the same, I waved mockingly at Darius through the rolled up windows as Mr. Ross started the car.

"Stop flirting with Darius, he's too old for you don't you think?"

I turned my head swiftly to look at Philip whose expression was just like his personality, hard as a rock.

"I wouldn't call that flirting." I protested.

"It was rather unprofessional." He continued, without acknowledging my protest.

"I wasn't flirting sir." I insisted and he shot me an annoyed look.

"Oh yes you were, I wasn't blind."

Jerk.

"You don't have a say in my personal life, sir. I'm your employee, not your girlfriend."

He stiffened and he turned to me furiously, his eyes bloodshot. Sadly, I found myself noticing that on the numerous occasions I saw him furious, his eyes had a red tinge in them

"What did you just say?"

His tone alone was enough to silence me, but my obstinate self was egging me on.

"I said exactly what you heard, I'm your employee not your girlfriend, and absolutely not your slave!" I yelled and he flinched.

I hurried out the car which he had parked minutes ago in his car park back at the office, but I was busy exchanging words with him that I didn't notice.

I stormed into the main building and he walked casually behind me, a few people looked in my direction but I was too angry to care.

Running into my office, I sat in my seat while breathing heavily in a bid to calm my nerves.

What have I done?

Mr big ego has gotten what he deserved, hasn't he?

What do you guys think? did Florence overstep her limits?

These two aren't gonna stop fighting, are they?

My sincere thanks goes to everyone who has read this book up to this extent. I'm encouraging you to read to the end, you'll never regret it.
