Chapter 1 The decision

Jay looked over to see Nya sitting on a bench alone looking at pictures. The sun began sinking behind her and the sky turned to a soft pink. Jay approached and sat down beside her. She seemed distressed and Jay knew what it was. Jay wanted to comfort her in some way so he spoke.

"I'm happy if you're happy."

Nya let out a startled gasp and quickly hid the pictures behind her back. She didn't want him to see that they were pictures of him and Cole.

''Oh sorry. I didn't mean to startle you, Nya."

Jay gave her a slight smile.

"It's fine. I was distracted." She smiled awkwardly in return.

"Nya, I want you to pick whichever one of us makes you the most happy... Even if it's not me." Jay put a hand on Nya's shoulder.

"Thanks Jay! That means a lot." Nya pulled Jay into a hug.

"Sensi Wu?" Nya said after knocking on Sensi Wu's door.

"Yes?" Sensi Wu replied.

"I need your advice." Nya stated a bit nervous.

"Ah, I see. Cole is cooking tonight, so it is probably best not to eat anything inorder for you to avoid massive indigestion!!!"

Sensi Wu sounded so serious and stern it was hard not to laugh. Of course, he was also right. The last time Cole cooked for the Ninja they ate slimy bread with stale meat for a week.

"Oh, uh, well that's not what I meant. I actually came for advice about," Nya hesitated, "about love."

Sensi Wu raised his eyebrows and his expression changed to concern.

"Oh, I see. Well love is a tricky thing. Especially when it is shaped." Sensi paused for dramatic affect. "Like a triangle."

Sensi Wu's voice was soft and comforting.

"I know, I know, but who do YOU think I should choose?" Nya asked hoping to get a straight answer.

"Well what is it you like about Cole? What is it you like about Jay?"

Sensi Wu asked hoping to help her work things out on her own. Nya rocked back and forth on her heels making the wooden floor squeak. Nya was disappointed with his response to her question but nonetheless still answered him.

"Well I mean Cole can be really sweet. And Jay makes me laugh. But Cole, he's too serious but Jay isn't serious enough. The machine told me Cole was my perfect match!"

Nya felt like now she was just dishing out thought salad with a side of feelings.

"Well then Nya who are you going to listen to? A machine," Sensi Wu paused for dramatic affect, "or your heart"?

His voice was serious but gentle. Nya took a moment to think.

"Thanks Sensi. I think I know what I'm going to do!"

Nya didn't sound so sure to Sensi.

Nya took a deep breath before entering Jay's room. She stepped inside and said,"Jay there's something I need to tell you."

She took another deep breath.

"Yes Nya."

Jay sounded pleased to see Nya. She took a shaky breath this time.

"I am... Choosing Cole."

Nya's heart rate started to escalate.

"Wait what?!? why?!? And why are you telling me now instead of tonight on the date you planned?"
