Flipped

It was crowded as hell. People are everywhere and I was stuck in the middle, uncertain of the path I should choose. In the sea of unfamiliar faces, I caught a glimpse of a pair of sparkly orbs.

I finally found him. 

In a flick of a finger, all my uncertainties and doubts disappeared. The side of my lips raised as I make my way towards him - towards my light. I hit a few people on the way but I couldn't care less. What's important is I get close to him. To my salvation.

When I was only inches away from him, I faked a fall and grabbed his shoulders for balance. But to my surprise, he was quick to grab me by the waist to prevent me from falling. His eyes were a different level of beautiful up close. I was enchanted for a moment but I swiftly snapped back. I should be the one hypnotizing him!

I hastily fished for my lighter in my pocket and lit it up in front of his face. He was confused at first but as seconds pass by, he froze.

"May makikipagkita sa iyo bukas. Give them everything they need." I said slowly, as if instructing a toddler.

He slowly bobbed his head, still fazed by the light. I stood straight before snapping him back to reality. I slid myself in the crowd and left my poor prey baffled.

"CUT!"

The lights went off and the crowd stopped walking. I'm back to reality.

Agad akong nilapitan nina Julian at Sofia. Inabutan nila ako ng tubig at tissue na maagap kong tinanggap.

"Ang galing mo Sharleng! In character talaga kung in character!" puri ni Sofia sa akin.

Pinahiran ko ang naglandas na pawis sa aking noo, "Salamat. Anong reaksyon ni Direk?"

"Kuntentong-kuntento yun Shar. He was smiling while watching you both." ani Julian.

Natigil kami sa pag-uusap nang may tumapik sa aking balikat. I don't need to turn around to confirm who it was. Tinanguan naman ako ng dalawa bago umalis upang bigyan kami ng privacy.

"Nash," I turned around, "you did great." puri ko.

He smiled, a frigid one, "We did great." he corrected me.

I smiled back, "Asus, cut the flattery Aguas. This isn't you." biro ko.

He was good on camera but now that we're behind them, he seemed so stiff. Parang naiilang? Kaya sinubukan kong biruin siya upang marelax naman ito kahit papaano. I should be the uneasy one, why did the tables flip?

I admit, medyo naiilang pa rin ako kapag kasama ko siya. But at least, medyo na lang, hindi tulad dati na ilang na ilang talaga ako sa kanya. Maybe this is like a scar in our frienship. Hindi na siguro kami maibabalik sa dati.

It's been weeks since we last saw each other. Sa surprise party kami huling nagkita. Magkaiba kasi kami ng lokasyon kung kaya't sina Donny at Joao ang lagi kong nakakasama. I was even worried that I might act like a fool in front of him again. But I'm glad it turned out a lot better than I expected.

He chuckled a bit, humoring me, "Uhm, Shar?"

I stared at him dead in the eye, his sparkling eyes were talking. "Hmm..."
