When they walked into the kitchen hand in hand, Rick looked at Alexis who had her head down on the kitchen counter.

"Alexis are you ok? Are you drunk?" Rick asked his daughter. Alexis put her head up. Her eyes were blood shot and her hair was a mess.

"I um... I've been better." She said confused as to why her father was holding the detective's hand

"What is Detective Beckett doing here?" She asked. Rick and Kate looked at each other. "Um...Alexis Detec... Kate and I are...we are.." Rick stuttered.

He did not know how to tell his daughter that he was with Kate. The one person until yesterday was the last person he wanted to see. The woman who broke his heart but he loved so much.

"We are together." Kate said. Alexis's eyes widened and she put her head back down. "Dad I thought you never wanted to see her again?" Alexis asked her father.

"I know I said that but I love her Alexis and Kate came to me. I don't know why it has taken us this long to realize it." Rick admitted.

"Ok then" Alexis said. Alexis got up from her bar seat and went up the stairs to her room.

"Alexis can we please talk?" Rick asked. Alexis slammed her door when she reached her bedroom Rick was going to go up after her but Kate stopped him.

"Give her time Rick. It's a lot to take in. I'll talk to her later" Kate said. Rick nodded and kissed her forehead.

They sat on the couch together just enjoying each others company while Martha was out at one of her classes. Alexis still had not come down from her room. Not a word from her. The door opened once but only for her to go to the bathroom.

Kate, even though she was very content on where she was, got up to go talk to Alexis. "I'm gonna go talk to her. Stay down here. I'll be down soon." Kate said as she walked toward the stairs.

When she reached the top of the stairs she hesitated before knocking on the door. Kate finally pulled herself together and knocked on Alexis's door.

"Alexis can I come in?" Kate asked.

"Sure" Alexis sarcastically replied. When Kate walked in Alexis was sitting on her bed with a few tissues by the trash can that Alexis must have missed.

Her eyes were still red from crying when she looked up at Kate. "Alexis, I would never want to hurt your father intentionally. Yes I was upset with him the other night but I never thought I had hurt him to that extent. It hurt me as much as it hurt him when he left. I love him Alexis but I'm new to this. I've never been so deeply in love with someone and I'm afraid to mess it up." Kate said grabbing a tissue for herself as she started to tear up.

Alexis nodded her head in agreement and Kate continued. "I want to be with your father. I've wanted to ever since I met him four years ago. Before I met him I stood in line for three hours just so he could sign my book." Kate laughed as she remembered waiting their forever in that long line.

"Your father forgave me for what I did to him but can you forgive me Alexis?" Kate asked.
